Thanks, Chrisdodt and Cathy B for your input. It looks like both of you are in a good place now with respect to AFib episodes. Tomby leondas - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, George N and Elizabeth. I need to talk to my EP about this as I have bradycardia also with normal heart rate in the low 50's. Tomby leondas - AFIBBERS FORUM
What exactly does an EKG look like at the moment of conversion from AFib to NSR? Do you "flatline" for several seconds? When it happens to me I feel a rush of warmth and if I'm standing or walking I feel lightheaded for several seconds and I stop moving to keep my balance. I often convert changing my position: standing, sitting, lying down. Thanks, Tomby leondas - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks, George, for the references and future reading for me. By the way, I just converted to normal sinus rhythm after being on disopyramide for five days! Now, let's see if it keeps me there! Tomby leondas - AFIBBERS FORUM
I recently started taking this "old drug" for rhythm control, but then again I'm an "old guy" at 75 :-) Flecainide worked wonders for me during a long period but became less and less effective in recent months. I am a vagal afibber, with episodes coming on only during my sleeping hours. I do plan to get tested for sleep apnea in the near future as that may be a factor. Iby leondas - AFIBBERS FORUM
George, I feel like I may be similar to your case with increased episodes of AFib recently. Now I'm thinking I've been ingesting too much calcium also due to worrying about osteoporosis. I also had AFib the night I took a CA supplement pill. BTW, drinking warm water worked to convert my AFib this morning. Thanks, Tomby leondas - AFIBBERS FORUM
I take flecainide and have never had an event or scary episode connected with either. Only a mild headache sometimes the next morning. I even had sex when I was having a string of PVC's and they were gone by the time I was asleep. Maybe I am just lucky but I observe my heart rhythm carefully all the time. Thanks Peggy! Now my question is: What kind of K supplement works best, powder or pills? I can work on the magnesium dosage also. Tomby leondas - AFIBBERS FORUM
After years of vagal type AFIB coming on during my sleep I have had one episode of AFIB that came on after dinner and two episodes of PVC's coming on after or during a meal. I have been taking 500mg TAURINE twice a day and 200mg MAGNESIUM GLYCINATE twice a day---both of these with breakfast and dinner. I see that potassium is being used as a supplement or in low sodium V8. Please comment orby leondas - AFIBBERS FORUM
