Thanks George. Yikes, that looks scary. Never would have thought aspirin withdrawal would cause something so serious. Carey, I see what you mean. I think it’s strange too. I never really had any issues with headaches before. I was thinking it was just some kind of withdrawal issue caused by a dependency built up then stopping all the suddenby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
I’ve been on Aspirin 325mg ever since being diagnosed with Afib several years ago (except for a period of a few months when I was on Eliquis). My ablation was successful and has my Afib under control. However, I haven’t been able to get off of Aspirin. I tried about a year ago cold turkey. I didn’t think it would be a big deal. But, I started having major headaches a couple of days in a row thby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
I’ve found a balance of pacing my exercise (mostly resistance training) that does not aggravate my a-flutter. I push to a certain intensity, rest in between sets and let my heart rate come down the do another set. For cardio, I can do very low intensity work on an elliptical or bike. I could do higher intensity and make it fine through the workout. But, what I find is that it triggers a-flutteby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Carey. I glad to hear that it is more simple that the original ablation. The recovery for me was a tough few months on my ablation. Pompon, that’s a good idea and I will probably do at some point. Up until now though I’ve just been managing by not pushing myself physically to much.by HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Carey! Yes, it’s a normal sinus rhythm. It’s almost always about 165 bpm without fail. I didn’t sleep well last night because I kept having runs of it. Maybe I had this arrhythmia all along but didn’t notice it because of afib? My ablation was successful at getting rid of my afib. I’ve been in normal sinus rhythm since the ablation thank goodness (with the exception of some runs of palpby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey all. So, I’ve been having these runs of fast heart rate for the past couple of days and wondering what might be going on. First, a little background. I had my ablation in Bordeaux about 1.5 years ago and have been doing pretty well all around. I had rounds of palpitations off and on several months back that subsided. But, something I noticed sometimes over the last year though is thatby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Carey! I will send it to them tomorrow and see what they sayby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi everyone. I hope you are doing well.. I'm about 9 months post ablation with Dr. Jais. I've been feeling great up until about two weeks ago. I've been getting increasing palpitations. I've noticed they can start when I am laying down or sitting on the couch in a slumped position. I stand up, and they can stop immediately. I lie down, they start right back up. Todayby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks George. I'm wondering whether my regular family doc would be cooperative. I will call his office and if they don't do it then maybe check into an integrative doc. So, you saw your twitches and afib resolve from magnesium?by HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi all. I found this website a while back: I'd like to get an EXA test to test my electrolyte levels. Anyone had this done? Should I ask my family doc about this? Looks like you need to have a doctor order the test to interpret the results. I take magnesium daily but would really like to assess whether its too high, too low....or potassium is off, etc. I'm going on 3 monthsby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm 58 days post ablation. Been keeping an eye on my ectopics and trying to see what I can do to rid myself of them. I have a habit to over eat sometimes at meals. I could be at a restaurant could stop eating my meal sooner......but keep taking a few more bites to finish it off because I don't want to take the food with me or throw it away. I've noticed when I get a bit &qby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
ajr1960, I've read a lot about vagus nerve damage post ablation. Is it possible that your problem will go away with more time? I've ready about healing times of 6 months - 1yrby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
MWCF, thanks for sharing that. That's a big relief. Glad to hear that is standard and was on your report toby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
JohnnyS, thanks. Clipping this and putting it in my notes! Will wait for the endoscopy firstby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon, also would be interested in hearing your thoughts on what you've seen in your experience in the community regarding more minor GI issues after ablation (ones that can cause issues for a while but then go away). When I eat sometimes now I'm feeling not pain but pressure below my sternum and at the same level in my back. Also been having a hoarse voice for a while. This stby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ok thank you Shannon. Have a great time at the conference!by HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
MWCF, thanks for sharing. I have a questions since my report was a lot different than yours. I'll paste the end part here: "We recommend that the patient continues with Lanzoprazole and Eliquis for 2 months and Flecainide for 1 month. In case of recurrence an antiarrhthmic drug could be restarted. We hope the long term result will be favorable. Please feel free to call / fax for aby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Johnny thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear you had to go to such a nightmare but that's amazing you got to the bottom of it.. I'm 52 days post ablation and dealing with pacs too. Maybe it's just part of the recover (inflamation from the albation). But, I've become a bit paranoid about my stomach as well. I was on Lanzaprazole for about 10 days following the ablation. Was sby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Pompon, what side effects to you have. MWCF, prior to ablation I was on 50mg twice a day. But, in the last 3 months or so was when it stopped being effective. So, I started taking an extra pill as needed during the day. I was originally on Aspirin but my EP put me on Eliquis in May after wearing a Holter monitor and showing more episodes of afib. They started becoming pretty much daily - avby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
GeorgeN that is an interesting idea. Tapering off does seem like a smart moveby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
MWCF, yes I have been on it going on about 2 yrs. And yes it was my first and a PVI. I took a screenshot of my report and blurred out my personal info. Here is a link: MWCF and Carey, makes sense on stopping as long as I have ectopics only and seeing how well it worked. I didn't really notice ectopics prior to ablation. I probably had them and they kicked me into afib every time...by HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had my ablation 51 days ago by Dr. Jais in Bordeaux. His instructions were that I can come off of Flecainide in 30 days and Eliquis in 60. My local EP said this is fine too. However, another member of the forum here said that the norm to come off of Flec is 90 days and he had his ablation by Dr. Jais too. Dr. Jais noted that I can restart if I experience any recurrence. Hey Joe. They didn't do that during my ablation. But, I had a transesophageal echo about 10 days before. That's been about 61 days agoby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
MWFC, did he prescribe Lanzoprazole for you? He prescribed to me for 60 days but I had to stop after 10 because I was having very bad bowel issues (20 times a day to the bathroom for 2 days) The chest pain I mentioned a couple of days ago has not come back thank goodness. Today is day 50 post op. The toughest thing for me has been trying to understand all the unusual things like this that hby HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Rocketritch and MWCF. I was told 30 days to come off of Flecainide by Dr. Jais and can come off of Eliquis in 60 days if I am doing well. I asked my local cardiologist about this and he confirmed as well. I'll ask him why not 3 months as you mentioned. I'm going to lay off of any straining / muscle exertion for a while and stick to the walking and light stretching. Well,by HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Carey. Today is Sunday so I will give them a call tomorrow if it doesn't go away. Today I notice that the dull ache is there and I feel it depending on how my body is positioned (like if I roll over in bed and hold a certain position or am standing and roll my shoulders back, etc) Seems like more of the ache one would expect in the first few days post op.by HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi everyone. I’m new to the forum. I’m 47 days post ablation in Bordeaux. I’m 40 years old and have had paroxsysmal afib for 2 years. This recovery period has been a lot harder than I thought it would be. I felt great for the first 7 days then at day 8 it was like hitting a wall. My energy has steadily been coming back. My issue starting today is that I’ve been having short “tinges”by HBK - AFIBBERS FORUM
