I feel like I just had a similar experience. I am a few weeks short of a year after an ablation and this past week I felt some PAC PVC type pf beats.for a couple of hours. I have been in NSR for the entire time with the occasional odd beat now and then. A few days before I had a 102 fever that lasted for a couple of days. I rarely have a fever and I'm not sure what it came from. Also we haby JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
A year ago I had a unexpected cardioversion when I went into SVT as I arrived at my cardiologist appointment. It was a good place to havet hat happen but I didn't get much of a meeting with the doctor as they sent me to the ER right away. The cardioversion was easy but the Amiodarone they gave me to try to convert before doing the cardioversion me was an odd feeling. The cardioversion wasby JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
UPDATE : I have successfully weaned myself off of Metoprolol and for the first time in six and a half years I am not taking a rhythm or rate med. Following my ablation last June, my cardiologist took me off of Diltiazem and Propafenone but kept me on Metoprolol. Being off of those two meds felt great so I didn’t think I would notice eliminating 25 mg of metoprolol. Even by cutting it in half forby JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotegloaming I believe it is best to cut dosages several times over at least two weeks. That makes sense. Ironically iwas told to stop Propafanone and Cardizem immediately post ablation. I didn't give it much thought, but in hind sight maybe I just got lucky because I had no problems after stopping.by JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotegloaming I'm pretty sure almost everyone who responds will say they were told they could stop metoprolol partway along the blanking period, or at its end, and that they should wean themselves off any anti-arrhythmic drug well before the Holter monitor at about the 10 week mark. Also, I was advised to cut back on metoprolol over a couple of weeks, 3/4 dose for five or six days, then halby JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
I recently had a my 6th month follow up for my ablation. Everything is going well. Following the ablation my cardiologist removed cardizem 225 mg 3xs per day and 150 mg propafenone from my med menu immediately. They did their job keeping me afib and aflutter free from the end of February, post cardioversion, until my ablation at the end of June. Eliminating those meds was as welcomed as the ablatby JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
My worst feeling was when I was taking both pre ablation. 225 mg 3xs per day of cardizem and 25 mg metoprolol. With any activity it felt like walking through mud. Immediately after my ablation carddizem and propafenone were eliminated. Now I just have metoprolol and I don't notice and side effects. If there are, they are very minimal. There is a chance at my 6 month check up post ablation thby JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was taking Propafenone Cardizem and Metoprolol and was told to stop taking them 3 days before my ablation. I wasn't sure if that was the way to go about it but that's what I did and I didn't experience any problems. I was expecting to return to taking all three post ablation but the doctor discontinued Propafenone and cardizem.by JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
In my first and only and hopefully last cardioversion in the ER I was give Adenosine to chemically covert my SVT of over 200 BPM. First I was given a low dose that didn't work and then a double dose that was also unsuccessful. I was finally put under and had a cardioversion that kept me in rhythm from February 27 until my ablation on June 27. I did not feel a thing from the cardioversion aby JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
I just had mine on June 27th. I think that everyone is different when it comes to recovery. I played in a band for a 4 hour session in a club two days later. No lifting amplifiers. I just sat there, but I was still surprised that I was able to do that. I have been able to walk everyday this week, a bit sore in the groin but not to the point where I couldn't do it. I was in NSR for 4 monthsby JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
I want to add that my BPM has been 68-72. I am on 25MG of Metoprolol so I am not sure how much higher it would be without that.by JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
In the months leading up to my recent ablation I found it very helpful to read accounts of ablation experiences here on this forum. I felt I should add mine in case it was of some use to someone here. I always read of ablations here and always thought that it wouldn't be me, but here I am. I was diagnosed with AFib June of 2018 and had a period of time with no episodes from March 2022 to Ocby JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM

I have an upcoming ablation this week and of course am approaching it with much concern. I had a flutter for 4 months beginning in mid October. I was cardioverted on February 27 and with a tweak of the meds I was on, I have been in NSR since that time. Prior to the aflutter I went for a year and a half in NSR from afib. I really feel the flutter came about from a case of untested COVID. Sinceby JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
Does anyone here experience increased nasal sinus problems similar to allergies when having irregular heart beats? Or, does anyone have irregular heart beats when dealing with nasal sinus type allergies? I cannot find any information regarding something like this but it is real for me so much that I can’t determine which comes first. The BPM is not increased during these symptoms remaining in theby JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
Following my most recent cardioversion the test indicated BNP at 166 and they indicated it as high. Checking back on other tests prior to that one, that result was never includedby JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the explanation Carey. It seems as if the fast version, 200+ BPM, presents itself when I do some strenuous physical activity i.e. lifting something very heavy and most recently walking up multiple flights of stairs. Also, it only occurred while I was in the slower 120 BPM version. Since my cardioversion and return to NSR I haven’t done anything of that type of stressful nature to knowby JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am re asking the last question from my original post. What I would like to know is are my episodes of SVT most likely happening because of being compromised by continuous A flutter and Afib or am I now dealing with something independent of the other? Is it common to have all three? My rate with SVT seems much higher than with A flutter which is terrifying when it happens..by JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotesusan.d Same with my story. I was stable in Sotalol unhh the uk I came down with vivid and then the flutter started. Hopefully the new meds will work. I hope they work for you. After they found I had a flutter this fall they added metoprolol. I was already taking cardizem as a rate control for my afib. I can't say that the new med was effective but maybe they were doing something thby JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM

Back in September I became sick with something cold and flu like but never tested for Covid. It took a few weeks before I felt better and it seemed that I never really did recover for even longer but I pushed on. Somewhere in the middle of October I noticed my heart rate was much faster than normal and by the end of October any strenuous activity, carrying something heavy going up stairs, snow blby JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteGeorgeN Thanks for the info . I don't know if it's just me but the pdf's seem a bit fuzzy to view Thanks for noticing that. The original files were over the 1MB limit (what we were given were image scans rather than text), so I'd exported & compressed them. Obviously compressed too much. I redid with less compression and a different filter and it looks betterby JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM

QuoteYuxi Sinus problem is often a manifestation of infection or allergies. I am not surprised when body is under attack of those, it affects the heart. Little over a year ago my sinus congestion and headache were really bad, so was my Afib. That's when I went to see an EP first time and eventually had an ablation last July. Quotegloaming Have you had a polysomnography? It could be that your condition is more related to sleep apnea. A sleep lab, over night, will soon let you and your caregivers know if you have obstructive sleep apnea. That, more than anything, is likely to be the cause of your AF. Was for me. Thanks for the response, I totally agree as this being part of the initial cause. I have used CPAP since 2by JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
Four years ago I had a question here about a possible connection with AFiB and nasal congestion and allergy type symptoms. There wasn’t a lot of response and then I went through a good year and a half without any episodes. Fast forward to now and the nasal congestion is chronic including more sinus pressure than before. Also back is many more episodes of Afib now along with aflutter. I cant findby JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
I’ve read many times here about failed ablations and cardioversions and have also read of the Drs who perform these with great success. This of course is a small slice of what actually happens in the world because obviously there are many more performed that are never heard of here because they either worked and they don’t need any more advice or they didn’t work and they don’t know of this groupby JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteFibberMcGee I am on both diltiazem and metoprolol. I call the feeling I get from them "Balloon Head". Not really pleasant. Would you say it is the combination of both or one or the other. I have recently been put on both and sometimes I wonder if they are working at all and if they contribute to not feeling normal.by JDfiB - AFIBBERS FORUM
