Thank you for this link. Extremely interesting. I had 2 ablations done by Dr Jais. My AF returned after 12 years in 2020 I could not travel to Bordeaux to have another ablation due to the pandemic but could have it done in Adelaide by an Australian doctor who worked with the Bordeaux team for 5 years. This doctor was recommended to me by Dr Jais for which I am very grateful. I managed to have theby aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have no AF. After my previous ablations the blood thinner was prescribed for one month only after successful ablation. I was quite surprised that Xarelto was prescribed to me to be taken continuously after my last ablation. I have no other health issues like diabetes or kidney, thyroid, liver or pancreatic health problems.by aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM
“Who was prescribed Xarelto post successful ablation and with NO AF episodes? I had 4 ablations, two in Bordeaux in 2006 and 2007 when I was asked to take blood thinner for one month. Only post-ablation. In my last, 4th ablation, very extensive, in 2020, I was prescribed Xarelto take continuously. I have no episodes of AF.” This is what I wrote in my first post if you have not noticed. Iby aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you for your reply. I am wondering if 10 mg of Xarelto is used in the USA for stroke prevention, considering that 20mg was considered the min dose, but I have found this article.by aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM

It's wonderful Gill that you are well after Bordeaux team ablation. It's nice to hear from people who had Bordeaux experience. I hope most are doing well. I was blessed with 12 years of NSR after Bordeaux ablation. I hope this one will keep me well. Thanks for your reply. Aldona.by aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello ALL, Just an update about ablation on 14 December 2020. Today is 6 months after my ablation in Adelaide Australia. I am off Flecanaide which was discontinued after 6 weeks. I feel now that I have turned the corner after a bit difficult recovery. I was extremely fatigued and exhausted after ablation. It was my 3 ablation in 14 years. First two done at Bordeaux. The last one in Bordeaux waby aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM
This is a fantastic result. Mine lasted 12 years, done in Bordeaux. I had 4th ablation in Adelaide done by doctor who wooed for 4 years with. Bordeaux team. 2005 first ablation in Sydney, complication, 2006 Bordeaux, 1 year, 2007 touch up Bordeaux, lasted till 2019, 2020 ablation in Adelaide. More extensive that both in France. I am doing well.by aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, Jackie. I will keep in mind all your interesting points. I am currently in process of balancing my side sleeping. I am also trying to sleep on one side standard latex pillow. After my 3 ablations, I had to sleep with the raised upper body, two high pillows. if not my heart did not feel comfortable. I want to go back to my sleeping flat. They best position for me and my spine.by aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM
I think they do for has a different approach depending on the case. I was off Flecanaide for 6 weeks posts ablation. I was reduced from 100 to 50 my and in a week I was off it. My current issue is that cardio wants me to stay on Xarelto blood thinner.by aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM
That's great news!! My Bordeaux ablation lasted 12 years. I am grateful for that. 2020 my third ablation in Adelaide /managed to have it done in-between lockdowns, in two weeks window / with a doctor who was trained and worked with the Bordeaux team. Due to Covid I was not able to travel to France. 3 months post ablation I feel good and enjoy every minute of NSR. Congratulations and allby aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie That's a very interesting post. I need to consider it and try to balance my sleeping on the right side with the left side. Since 2005 when AF appeared I was not able to sleep on the left side. Left sude= AF trigger or abundance of ectopic beats . After this last ablation on 14 December 2020, I try to lie on the left side halfway. This is because I have noticed that often I have a pby aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM
Taking antiarrhythmic during 3 months post ablation as I understand is to help with healing of the atriums, by preventing artriums from fibbriliating, if breakthrough episodes occurred shortly after ablation . Prevention takes burden off the heart that suffered quite a trauma. In my case I will be off Flecainade after 6 weeks. I had breakthrough AF 5 days after procedure, converted in 20 min afby aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had elevated troponin level during my severe pancreatitis which required me to be in intensive care unit for several days. They involved cardiologist who suspected I might have had heart attack as well and IHD, which I did not.by aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you for all your responses to my post. In past two days I have noticed definitive changes in my SOB for the better. Currently I am on 50 mg Lopressor, 5 mg of calcium channel blocker Amlodopine, Xarelto 5 mg and Felcanaide added after breakthrough AF post ablation. The protocol of ablation was this same as it's applied in Bordeaux. I did have catheter during and after procedure for 24by aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM
14 December 2020. So it's two weeks now. I was told it was very extensive ablation. RPV reconnected and also there were many foci in right atrium and on the back wall of right atrium that needed ablation.by aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello affibers I had two ablations done at Bordeaux. In 2006 and 2007. AF came back in 2019. Because it was not possible to travel in 2020 I had ablation done locally in country where I live. Doctor was recommended by the team from Bordeaux, due to the fact that he worked with Bordeaux team for 4 years. This ablation was more extensive than two previous ones. Please explain your situation to Bordeaux. Ask them if due to your circumstances the test can be done just before your ablation.by aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi I know exactly how you feel. Any kind of stress will cause me to have an episode of AF mine are very symptomatic like yours. I simply am bed ridden Valium, sleeping pill to sleep over at least some of the episodes I do not cope well due to the symptoms. AF came back after 11 years, developed in past year into very frequent and debilitating. I did not wait long to arrange for ablation. This oby aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had two ablations in Bordeaux. Second one touch up, required because AF came back after 9 months. I decided to have it done as my episodes were very frequent and long. After touch up I was AF free for 12 years. AF reappeared in past year. Getting very frequent and long episodes. I was considering traveling to Bordeaux but because of pandemic decided against it. I was very patient with my AF maybe too much. For 10 years doctors tried all possible drug combinations to prevent or intimate AF. Nothing worked And it progressed to AF episode every two days lasting for 12,14,16 up to 24 hours. Decided to have ablation in Bordeaux. 12 years later after AF is back and straight after few months of dealing with beast I decided to have ablation again. My AF alwaysby aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM

I had two ablations in Bordeaux and did not experience any ectopic beats, flutter, or PVC . My groin was not sore and I did not have any bruising. My heart rate was not elevated at all after ablation. I just took it easy for few months to build up physical exercise, just being cautious. After one month I was taken off blood thinners. I was in hospital for one week. Now I am having ablation andby aldona - AFIBBERS FORUM
Currently TEE will be done just before ablation under general anaesthesia. In 2007 when I had my last ablation in Bordeaux TEE was requested to be done one week before planned ablation. My heart rate did not increase at all after 2 ablations I had. I did not experience any PAC or PVC. The only med I had after ablation was one I used before I got sick with AF - Metoprolol. Hi Gill I had two ablations in Bordeaux, 2006,2007. At returned this year. I will have ablation in Adelaide on 14 December. If I could I would go to Bordeaux again. Not possible now. I could not rebuild my trust in abilities of doctors in Australia and traveled to Bordeaux and had 2 ablations there.
