Hi Everyone I apologize for the long post. I’m newly diagnosed, about a month now. I had one documented AFib episode that converted on its own after 12 hours. I wore a zio patch for 2 weeks and the results came back showing no AFib, less that 1% PAC and PVC’s. 2 short runs of SVT with the highest heart rate being 119 BPM. I was on Diltiazem but switched to Metaprolol, and I take Eliquis.by traceyf45 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was given the Atenolol for ocular migraines by a neurologist. The thinking is that when you have a migraine your blood pressure tends to spike high, thus contributing to the spamming of the small blood vessels in the brain....causing migraine. That was the thinking 17 years ago anyways. To be fair the addition of the atenolol calmed my migraines and knock on wood i only experienced them a couby traceyf45 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Since Ive been having extreme shakiness tremors and high level anxiety since my first AFib episode where I was taken off the Atenolol that I had been taking for 17 years for migraines and started on Diltiazem my cardiologist has decided to have me stop the Diltiazem and start Metaprolol. I currently take 120mg ER of the Diltiazem at bedtime. She wants me to not that that tonight and instead takby traceyf45 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Anyone take Flomax with their other meds for Afib? I have a kidney stone on top of all of this other craziness and they have now given me Flomax to try and help it pass...doctors hand out medication like candy on Halloween!by traceyf45 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi all I’m taking Eliquis 5 mg 2x day. And Diltiazem 120mg ER. Anyone just feel fatigued...no energy, from either of these 2 meds? Hard time taking a full breath.. finding it hard to navigate my day. Been out of work since diagnosis almonds a month ago. I’m hoping to get off the Diltiazem and go back to a beta blocker since I was on one for 17 years. Thank you I finally saw my cardiologist today. She agrees that I’m having some withdrawal effects from the atenolol and said she would like to put me back on the atenolol, see if my symptoms abate a little and possibly switch over to the metoprolol. I definitely feel as if I’m going through withdrawal. Such nervousness , agitation, difficulty driving...generally feel on the edge of a panby traceyf45 - AFIBBERS FORUM
My heart rate is around 50 sitting. During sleep I’m sure it goes a bit lower. Yes the Kidney stone showed up at the least opportune time! But when it rains it pours I quess. Trying to keep my head up and not get to down about all of this AFib stuff. It’s definitely stopped me in my tracks and I’m finding it hard to push forward doing the same everyday things that i used to do. Again thaby traceyf45 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for your reply I am currently on the Diltiazem but not so sure I’m tolerating it as well as I tolerated the Atenolol. I think you are right when you say that I have had it for some time and the atenolol was keeping it under some control and stopping it brought it to light. I am feeling so much adrenaline even on the Diltiazem. Feelings of flushed face and chest, increase in heartbuby traceyf45 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Everyone I’m new to this forum and newly diagnosed. I was put on Atenolol 17 years ago to help control migraines. Last month my cardiologist ( was refererred to her because I had Right bundle branch block show up on a recent EKG) told me to stop the atenolol...cold turkey. I stopped the atenolol and 2 weeks ago had an episode of racing heart. Went to ER and was told I was in AFIB. Theyby traceyf45 - AFIBBERS FORUM
