Well, I went back in afib three days after ablation and pacemaker insertion. Guess I was just lucky, or a lousy ablation by a very experienced EP. Knocking on wood since I've been in NSR since June.by gadawgfan - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had cryo ablation March2 and pacemaker inserted on the 3rd this year. I remained in intermittant afib until I did a two week stint on Amiodarone mid May. Have been in NSR since, but seem to tire easily. I'm playing pickleball 3 times a week for 1 1/2 hours, but my endurance isn't improving. Ive been slack in my weight/aerobics and plan to get my act together. Is there a time framby gadawgfan - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi, I had a cryo ablation March 3 in Port Charlotte, FL. EP trained in Bordeaux so I thought I'd be getting RF ablation. At consult he recommended cryo, I think so he can better control his busy schedule. My fault for not putting it off until we got back home. Anyways, he found a slow AV node and put in a pacemaker the next day. I stayed in NSR for one week then back in persistant afib, fby gadawgfan - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for posting! Will help me question my new EP before 2nd ablation later this year. First was cryo and lasted 7 days. Will definetly demand RF next time!by gadawgfan - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi, I had a cryo ablation last Monday by an experienced EP (5000+ ablation). Pacemaker installed next day following post ablation EP study. Was fine for one week then back in afib yesterday. I have appointment with NP next Monday. Any questions I should ask, besides the obvious. I know blanking period lasts 3-6 months, I also was wondering how long other people's afib lasted during blaby gadawgfan - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi, I’m having an ablation next week in Port Charlotte, FL. I chose Dr Sydney Peykar since he trained in Boudreaux. I was expecting a RF ablation at consult, but he recommended a cryo ablation. He’s done over 5000 so hopefully competent. Since flecainide hasn’t kept me in NSR after 12/23/19 cardio version he wants to put me on Amiodarone for 3-6 months. I will try 3 months, but no longer. Does anyone know what happened with Steve Ryan, PhD who used to put out his monthly newsletter? He said he'd gone back in A-fib after an ablation 13 years ago. That was in July 2019 and no monthly alerts since then. Thanksby gadawgfan - AFIBBERS FORUM
