And Merry Christmas, Wishing you all a quiet heart throughout the coming New Year! Cheers! Shannonby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
Great to see your alerts on the Bots increasing activity's on our forums, ParvanPharter! It's a brave new world out there, and it's good to see us Afibbers keeping up with these incredibly fast changes in communications, and seeing folks (real live folks that is) helping out in mitigating erroneous postings as they are found, as we all get our feet wet in this new reality. Thank you again gloaming, George, Jackie, and Liz. I know Hans would much appreciate the love. We will keep the sticky post active a few extra weeks in order that more of our long-time Afibbers from way back, might still be able to learn of our Dear friend Hans passing. Thank you gloaming for your kind words for Hans and his family. Best wishes, Shannonby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
Pasquale Santangeli, who is now at Cleveland Clinic, would near the very top of the heap for me, should Andrea Natale not be available to a given Afibber. A long list like this can be somewhat useful. But the bigger the list then generally the rule of thumb is that the more variable the benefit might be. Keep in mind your targeted procedural needs and focus on the top handful of Elite operatoby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
It is with both sadness, and a cherished celebration of a life so well lived, that I wish to share with you all the peaceful passing of Hans R. Larsen, MSc ChE., who was the founding mentor of Afibbers.org, a true inspiration and an all-around dear friend to so many of us. ... especially us old-timers! I realize that many of our more recent Afibbers, might not be as familiar with Hans and hisby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes folks, there is still some degree of a blanking period with PFA ... we can anticipate a better, more nuanced, assessment of PFA blanking period by this coming fall to more precisely determine the duration of PFA blanking ... The bet's are that it will likely show a shorter than RF blanking period. Again we should have a better fix on this issue after completion of the paroxysmal PFA triaby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey Travis, Regarding the overnight stays after a procedure at TCAI in Austin, be sure to keep in mind that a good number of TCAI EPs are often treating local patients who live within an hour or so of an easy drive to their own homes. Plus, with the approximately 14 plus EPs working under Dr Natale, it is more likely for local patients, perhaps doing a follow-up PVI, to stay over night anby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
Dear Afibbers, Here is wishing you all a peaceful holiday week and Christmas from Carey and I. We both much appreciate your continued contributions and participation with our two online forums, now approaching 23 years this January, and hope 2023 brings you all good things ... especially a quiet heart! Cheers! Shannon and Careyby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
You'll do just fine Madeline, and you are an old timer now too :-) Let me know how it goes. Cheers! Shannonby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
That's great to hear Smackman!! And you are more than welcome. Please give my very best to your wife and family as well! Seems like a good long while since you first discovered our little oasis in the online AFIB universe!! Cheers! Shannonby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
I agree Carey, The only time I have seen Natale ablation patients being required to have a pre-procedure spiral CT, is strictly to rule out pulmonary vein stenosis occurring within any of the four pulmonary veins from a most recent ablation, and whenever the patient has had one or more previous ablations elsewhere ... for just the same reason you noted above, Carey. One would think PV stenoby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
Great to hear LLA! It's a common refrain heard over two decades now on our forum, and at other AFIB resources as well, that well-vetted recommendations for Afibbers who are at that point in their AFIB career that they are fed up living with the beast, so often decide it is time to find a more durable solution. And folks such as yourself have often followed a very similar process as you haby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the link BobsBeat, I too have been following a bit of John Fetterman's arrhythmia issue. The key question that still remains for me is whether this was a VT related issue, perhaps in addition to his apparent history of AFIB? A number of news reports from the last couple of days have noted that he had a 'defibrillator' installed. If Fetterman did get a defibrillaby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
Children of 7 and a bit less have been known to have AFIB, often (but not always) with a corresponding separate congenital heart condition .. just check it out with a Pediatric EP, as they can recount oodles of just such very young AFIB cases, and other assorted arrhythmia as well like SVT and even more rarely VT. All great to hear CaliGuy! Your off to a great start ... and thanks for keeping us posted! Be well, Shannonby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
Our apologies for the inconvenience folks. The issue is mostly with our Webhost and they are working on it now and it should be resolved fairly soon. Please be patient and we will keep you posted as soon as it is fixed. Best wishes, Shannonby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Afibbers, The issue is at least partly with our host who should have a solution soon. Hang in there and we will let you all know as soon as it's all fixed. Apologies for the inconvenience for any of you. Be well, Shannonby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
Great news Barb, I'm so glad you made the best decision in your case in getting the Watchman FLX. Like Jaybros' in a separate recent post above, you both have become real aficionado's these days and I am happy for you both! Cheers! Shanby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
Great to hear your update JayBros! And looks like you have this gig down pat these days, of rolling with both the punches and the blessings! Be well, Shannonby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Barb, You could send a card to Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute at St.David's Medical Center in Austin 512-544-2342, addressed to Dr. Andrea Natale and that would get there I'm sure. I'm sure he would appreciate it. Take care, Shannonby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
With so many hundreds of our Afibbers here having gotten to know and appreciate first hand the phenomenal skill and kindness of Dr. Andrea Natale, I wanted to let those of you who know him and have gotten a procedure with him know, that his mother passed away yesterday, and that he is just now about to take off on a flight to Italy as I type this on an early Wednesday morning here in Sedona AZ.by Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
You are more than welcome Que! And yes, I too find immunology, virology and vaccine research and development fascinating as well. It's all about how our innate and adaptive branches of our immune system carry out a truly amazing feat of keeping us alive and functioning, in spite of also having to address nasty pathogens along the way! Welcome CaliGuy to Afibbers forum! Your have just collectively been given the keys to the kingdom for making a very wise choice in this field of AFIB ablation from Carey, GeorgeN, JayBros and Pompon. Yes indeed Ken, this is a game of buying as much time as possible in good 'ole NSR! All the more reason, in my book, to be discriminating when choosing a highly experienced ablation expert for an ablation. Shannonby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
The key issue is moderation, and likely some genetics may be at play here too. Though the following well-done multi-center Randomized Controlled Trial published in 2020 in the New England Journal of Medicine titled: Alcohol Abstinence in Drinkers with Atrial Fibrillation is worth reading. My pleasure AB, and thanks so much for your help too as always, my friend! I'm glad you enjoyed it as well. Dr Crotty and his advance team much enjoyed the afternoon too, as they do not often get the chance to share some of the nuances of immunology with a group of seasoned Afibbers like ours. Hi Jay, Its great to hear the Watchman FLX all went well as expected! And yes, the more experienced Watchman operators can and do offer a minor touch-up ABL plus the Watchman implant in one shot for a handy two for one procedure. Best Wishes, Shannonby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
