Hi Dirk, In response to your question, I can tell you what my father's experience was. When my father had paroxysmal a fib he was able to do a high level of activity (running, pole vaulting, pickle ball, weights) while on blood thinners and beta blockers until age 76 when his a fib became persistent. Hi Ally, My dad had an extensive ablation with Dr. Natale in March of this year. He is 80 years old and was in persistent atrial fibrillation for 4 years prior to his ablation. Best decision ever! My dad said it was "nothing but fun" for him and he said he had no pain.
