I had a two hour ablation with Dr Natale, six hours on my back in recovery. I had a Foley. As Carey said, a moment of discomfort on removal but not a big deal at all.by Oleanmike - AFIBBERS FORUM
Very similar to my story with Dr Natale. Shannon was incredibly helpful and kind to me as well.by Oleanmike - AFIBBERS FORUM
I would consider a hotel. We stayed at the Hyatt Place in North Austin and the next day it was quite a chore to walk the small incline up to the hotel. Also, if there is a need for anything, the hotel staff is available to help you. Not so if you're in a rental place. All the best.by Oleanmike - AFIBBERS FORUM
Great post newyorker! Similar to my story of my ablation with Dr. Natale in October 2017. Like Carey, I had almost no pain. I am so fortunate to have chosen Dr Natale after the advice of this forum.by Oleanmike - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had my an ablation with Dr Natale in October 2017 (my first ablation) and have been in NSR since. It was definitely the correct choice for me.by Oleanmike - AFIBBERS FORUM
I agree with you Fravi. I am almost 3 months post ablation with Dr. Natale and consider my choice of him and TCAI as the best possible one. I am within driving distance of Austin but would have flown if necessary. I also need to thank Shannon for his great advice and support both before and after my ablation.by Oleanmike - AFIBBERS FORUM
From my limited experience, it seems that if the first TEE shows low blood flow, so does the second one. Is there anyone who got off Eliquis after a second TEE? I will have my first TEE in a few months after my first ablation, so am hoping that the TEE shows a good result.by Oleanmike - AFIBBERS FORUM
Well, I'm only 6 days into recovery but so far I am still in NSR. My recovery has been slowed by a cough and cold that has necessitated an antibiotic. I had the symptoms prior to the ablation but we (Dr Natale and I) decided to go ahead since the symptoms seemed to be getting better. Perhaps the throat tube aggravated the cough and sore throat but my cough got significantly worse after thby Oleanmike - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had my first ablation last week with Dr. Natale. I was persistent Afib and in the consult prior to the ablation he said he thought my chances of needing an additional ablation were 35-40%. I did not have an enlarged atrium. He did have to ablate in the LAA but did not isolate it. Your decision to go to Dr Natale is the best one you could have made. Good luck with your procedure!
