Thanks, Shannon. Finally avocado season and a box coming your way!by Gobears - AFIBBERS FORUM
Maybe it's contextual but I think I feel the difference. My SVTs (yes, PSVT I think is what I'm trying to describe) were always short and I would "feel" them. My flutter was not so easy to feel. I would learn my heart rate was quite elevated and would not have noticed it.by Gobears - AFIBBERS FORUM
For me -- and it's probably quite person-specific -- the PACs feel like a butterfly "flutter" whereas the PVCs feel harder and a little painful like a "heart squeeze." If you don't already, you should get a Kardia monitor (they are easy and work with your phone). You can "see" what your heart is doing when you're feeling this stuff. Sounds like you&by Gobears - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello Fibbers: I had my Natale Index ablation for afbb and aflutter in late March 2017. I've been fb and flutter free I think ever since. Some slightly painful PVCs; hardly any PACs. But lately I've had a few evening runs of SVT; 5 seconds or so. I think it's SVT and not flutter because for many years, since my 20s, I had occasional SVTs and it feels like "that" --by Gobears - AFIBBERS FORUM
Great comments. Spot on.by Gobears - AFIBBERS FORUM
How can any of us not join this chorus? Thanks much, Shannon! I miss my almost daily interactions with you when I was trying to get my arms around my condition and plot the course forward. Now that I'm in NSR there is not much to say, except THANKS!by Gobears - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks, George. You are accurate. I have tried that and it works for getting a better visualization of the p wave. By the way, your fasting stuff has me fascinated!by Gobears - AFIBBERS FORUM
A quick update. My three month post-op ended today. As far as I know, I have been in steady NSR (with a few Pacs now and then). Sometimes feel "on the verge" but don't go into afib. One lead EKG (Alivecor) shows very small p wave but it looks normal on 12 lead. Will have stress echo soon to test mechanical functioning. Thanks to you all -- especially Shannon!by Gobears - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the shout-out, Shannon. Feeling great, just like Carol and Clay. I do have an occasional dream where I have a run of tachycardia -- but I'm (pretty) sure it's just a dream!by Gobears - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the report, Clay. Sounds like you're on your way. Our experiences were almost identical. And thanks for your encouragement. Kevinby Gobears - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks, Clay! You were one of those who encouraged me to keep trying to get Natale. I heard you're procedure was smooth. Congrats! What medicine are you taking post-procedure? I would like to dump the Cardizem and just take the Eliquis until (I HOPE!) I'm cleared to stop the blood thinner. Glad you're doing well! Kby Gobears - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks, George & Wolfpack. Thanks for all your insights on this forum. Kby Gobears - AFIBBERS FORUM
Through the incredible assistance of Shannon Dickson, our editor – and the great luck that I found this website – I write this on the plane returning from my “index” (first and hopefully last) ablation in Austin at the ultra-capable hands of Dr. Andrea Natale. Here’s my story. I am 55 years old. Back in my late 20s, I first experienced some runs of tachycardia. The first time it happenedby Gobears - AFIBBERS FORUM
As always, thanks much Shannon. I will take this advice. I am concerned that my heart has been running at over 140 for almost 2 days. kevinby Gobears - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have primarily flutter (but also afib) with an ablation scheduled with Dr. Natale in late March. Lately, I've been in sinus for a day or two and then in flutter for a day or two. The problem is getting my pulse down in flutter. It's usually 150. I have been taking metropolol but it seems to be losing its effect. I am now up to about 200 mg (about 100 ER and 100 tartrate). Shannon, Sorry to hear but, echoing others, she could not have a more knowledgeable partner if this becomes more than the hoped-for blip. Best to you both. Kevinby Gobears - AFIBBERS FORUM
I believe Dr. Doshi as Pacific Heart Institute (Santa Monica) has done a lot of Watchman work, too.by Gobears - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks so much Shannon (the amazing editor of this website) for the insights and help. Thanks, Clay, for the support. I have an ablation scheduled with Dr. Natale. I have also been in NSR most of the last week so things are looking up. I am just taking metropolol but, when I'm in sinus rhythm I feel like it's not helpful, but then if I go into flutter I'm at 150bpm and it takesby Gobears - AFIBBERS FORUM
I went from 5% "burden" on diagnosis w afib 9 months ago (based on 2 week Zio patch) to nearly full-time flutter and a fib as of the flu I caught this Christmas. I was cardioverted three weeks ago and it went great -- until I went back into flutter the next day. I have called Natale's office 2x in SF and received no return calls (since last Tuesday). I have a cardiologist in LAby Gobears - AFIBBERS FORUM
