Hi Ralph. Like you I live in the SF bay area. When it came to choosing an ep I consulted with Dr Natale and ep’s from UCSF, Stanford and Silicon Valley Cardiology. Based on my evaluation criteria I decided on Dr Natale. I had a 90 minute ablation, no LAA isolation, 3 years ago and have been afib free since. I would take issue with some your cardiologist’s statements based on my researchby Alan - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jim, It took me 1.5 years before HR was back to pre ablation (Dr. Natale) level in low 50's. I was afib and symptom free the whole time so this was never an issue. I wouldn't worry about this. Alanby Alan - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Travis, The definitive source for patent expiration dates is the FDA orange book at Orange book Please note that there are 2 types of market protections. They are patents and exclusivity. Patents last for 20 years, starting from the issue date by the patent office. This can be years before completion of clinical trials and FDA approval. Exclusivity is exclusive marketing rights grantby Alan - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon, Excellent analysis and information as usual. Since a picture is worth a thousand words I thought the attached charts comparing watchman and warfarin costs that you cite from Dr Reddy would help some of those on this forum. Watchman vs Warfarin Costs Also please note that under certain circumstances Medicare will reimburse for the watchman. See Medicare Alanby Alan - AFIBBERS FORUM
