I feel a "click" in my gut. It's an odd little thing, but when I feel the click, I know I've gone back into NSR. I was in the hospital (getting onto Sotalol) and the doc was standing there talking to me when he asked me what was up. I had just clicked back into NSR and I guess had a big smile about it. I told him, he looked skeptical and then listened to my heart. It was in NSby Nancy-2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've been on it for over a year now (and yes, I did the annoying 3 day hospital stay. Nothing more boring than being stuck in a hospital when you're not sick). I didn't have any side effects (knock wood), including no cough. Have you asked your doc about the cough? Hopefully it goes away soon. Nancyby Nancy-2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've found now that I can sense an episode is coming about a day or so ahead of time. It feels like it's about to start, but it doesn't. Sometimes it can feel that way for hours. But nothing. Then the next day - bam, there goes the episode. Anyone else found this to be true? Nancyby Nancy-2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I use a combination of the Doctor's Best suggested above, and Seeking Health's Magnesium Glycinate Powder. There used to be a capsuled magnesium/chelated albion method that was out there, but they changed the formula. That worked so well for me I'm very annoyed at the change. I've found that using these two different kinds works best for me. Nancyby Nancy-2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've been on Coumadin for 3 1/2 years now. Only thing that is problematic for me is I have a bad knee and Advil helps it, but I can't take Advil while on Coumadin. So that's annoying. Also have to watch supplements that act like blood thinners. Nancyby Nancy-2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
kapnkeyz - yes it's not the magnesium that we afibbers take that is an issue. It's the antacid. Magnesium & sotalol are just fine. Nancyby Nancy-2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've been using magnesium since my afib began in 2000. 18 months ago I started on Sotalol. My EP knows about the magnesium & other supplements and has no problem with it. I haven't had problems with the two. What research are you seeing? Nancyby Nancy-2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie, Yes, I have solid magnesium supplementation, and Taurine and all the rest. I've had the Strategy down for a few years now . Neither salt nor calcium is a problem. wolfpack - yes, I was betting on dehydration too. Fortunately the episode only lasted a few hours. Still have a fever, but down to 98-99, so baby steps. I've had a fever in the 100-100.4 range for 2 days/nights now. I don't know if it's that or dehydration that has triggered an episode. I have tried very hard to drink more water than usual, and added potassium to the daily mix. Also had diarrhea, and I could tell that the fibs just really wanted to start in, so was not surprised when they did in the middle of the night. Also haven&by Nancy-2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Is there another blood thinner that works - and doesn't have wretched side effects? I keep seeing those tv ads for class action suits against Pradaxa for instance. Nancyby Nancy-2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
