I take 450 mg of propafenone and 50 mg of metroprolol at onset of afib. It calms my heart down quite quickly and I usually convert in three or four hours. Louby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the Bordeaux contact info Gill. I wasn't sure if Laurence was still there or not. I will make a note of it. Louby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Castaway, I travelled from Vancouver, Canada to Bordeaux in 2005 and can highly recommend going there. Professor Haissaguerre operated on me. He along with Professor Jais and Dr. Hocini are among the top Drs. in the world. The contact person at the time was Laurence Bayle, who was most helpful and replied very quickly. Here is her email. laurence.bayle@chu-bordeauxfr. I am not sure iby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
Fantastic news Murray. Best wishes for continued NSR. Louby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie, I am just wondering if this product is safe to use while taking apixaban? And can you use it only when required or should it be used daily? Thanks Louby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
I totally agree with Tim. I had a number of afib events and plenty of crazy type ectopics I had never felt before. After a few weeks things settled down, so please be patient and try not to get your stress level up. Louby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you for your post Glen. You really got my attention when you mentioned Dr. Bennett learned his ablation technique from Dr. Jais and Prof. Haissaguerre. In the spring of 2005 Hans travelled to Bordeaux for an ablation. I communicated regularly with Hans, and followed his progress post ablation. I travelled to Bordeaux in Sept. of 2005 and my ablation done by Professor Haissaguerre. I sby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
The first time I experienced afib was in 1992. I was fighting a really nasty cold, so I decided to try a cold remedy. I don't recall for sure but it could have been nyquil or neocitran. I am convinced it was the culprit. Louby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
Great news Murray! After all you have been through, you deserve NSR forever. Cheers and all the best. Louby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
Fantastic news Murray. We will certainly be following your progress. All the best to you. Lou, from Vancouver.by Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
Alan, This is a little different scenario, but a few years ago I was golfing on a very hot summer day. After finishing a par three I proceeded up a long and and steep pathway to the next tee. My heart rate was elevated and I had a few cups of ice cold water from a water cooler. Within ten seconds I started getting missed beats and then into full blown afib. As I am extremely symptomatic, I waby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM

Fantastic news Murray! You have worked so hard to get there, and certainly deserve a successful outcome. Cheers from B.C. Louby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi Monty great to hear from you. I think the bruising is very common, and it can cover a large area. The color will change and eventually fade after time. I don't know if you have ever had a black eye, but the bruising is very similar and can take a few weeks to disappear. No problem checking with Dr. Hocini to ease your concern. Or you could send Laurence an email, and I think you will getby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
No worries Monty, that is exactly what I experienced. Give it a few days and all will be fine. If all of your afib came from your pulmonary veins, it sounds like a pretty routine fix. All the best. Louby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Rick, I wish I could throw some names at you but I can't. Unfortunately we don't have the likes of a Dr. Natale or a Prof Haissaguerre. It's been repeated on this board many times to make sure you get the best. There are two Drs. at South Lake regional Hospital in Ontario, that are very highly recommended. Dr Yaariv Khaykin and Dr Atul Verma. I am considering explorby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
Great News Monty, I'm sure you are up and about today, so take it easy and be patient with your recovery time. It can take a few months. Cheers, Louby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Monty, It's not the newest of hospitals, but it's what happens inside that counts. I think you will be very impressed with the care you receive there. You couldn't be in better hands. Keep us posted please, All the best, Louby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Monty, Excellent advice from Ron. I have had minor gut issues off and on for years, and I recall the first few days after my ablation in Bordeaux I felt really bloated. My sister in law and her husband were holidaying in Spain at the time, so they drove up to Bordeaux for a few days. She gave me some extra strength zantac which really helped eliminate the bloated feeling. Just take itby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
The only Dr. in Canada I would consider would be Dr. Khaykin and his team in South Lake regional Hospital located in Ontario. He is very highly recommended. I don't know how it works as far as medical coverage if travelling from another province.by Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello Montos, I am going to offer you all the support and info I can. I travelled to Bordeaux for an ablation in 2005. I know a lot of people have heard my story and I tend to get a little long winded, so if you would like, I will send you a personal message. I have nothing but high praise for the Bordeaux team. In the past I offered and sent out numerous info packs and maps to fellow afiby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM

Murray, My heart goes out to you considering all that you have been through during the past few years. I commend you for your patience and efforts. You have come a long way and it's unfortunate you have to wait another year for an ablation. I travelled to Bordeaux in 2005 for an ablation with Prof. Haissaguere. I had to wait five months, but it was well worth it. I had four wonderful yeby Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Travis, I have been on warfarin for two years, and haven't had any problems to date. I am going in to see my cardiologist next week for my yearly check up. I am serioulsy considering changing from warfarin to elequis, and will discuss this with her. The only reason I haven't switched already is the fact that warfarin has an antidote which gives me a little piece of mind. I am 7by Lou Toews - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Sam, I went to Bordeaux in 2005 and the contact person George mentions will give you all the info you need. Laurence Bayle. She will reply to you very quickly.
