Thanks George and Joyce for getting back to me. Yes I have been thinking about Sabine Ernst as well Joyce and it may be that I will go that route. I suppose what swung the idea of Bordeaux, apart from their good reputation and recommendations was that I would stay there for a few days and if anything was missed it could be dealt with during the same period. I don't think that would happenby castaway66 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello everyone. I wonder if anyone can help me out. Although I have changed my diet and am losing weight I have decided that I should have an ablation - still having daily events. I was set to have and ablation in Birmingham but then thought the best treatment in Europe would would probably come via the Bordeaux hospital. I have been in touch with them over the last few months but I'm havinby castaway66 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello George thank you for all the helpful information and apologies for the late response. I have now switched to a lower carb diet and have been surprised at the results. I have been event free for most of the days and then it starts at night but sometimes it will go and come back (well you how crazy unpredictable it all is). I'm hoping as I settle in to my new regime it will ease in theby castaway66 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you Sam. That is really helpful for me as I have been so very indecisive about what to do. I could just go to Birmingham and get it done quickly and without cost but I would much rather get the best possible job done. As I have been referred to Birmingham and offered an ablation there I'm not sure how easy it would be to switch to Dr Ernst but I will definitely take a look - along withby castaway66 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for your help Jackie. Sorry for the late reply. I have been mainly dairy and gluten free for a few months with only the occasional transgression. I think it has helped. I think the leptin stuff looks quite interesting and will take a closer look at that. At the moment I am trying to change to a lower carb intake which means leaving out potatoes but nothing too extreme. many thanks Kevinby castaway66 - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thank you Gill for the information. Sorry for the late reply. I read some of you story in another post. I too hate taking this medication. I've been in touch and they've sent me a questionnaire. many thanks Kevinby castaway66 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Shannon thanks for your reply. First let me apologize for the the delay in responding you your helpful reply. My life has been a bit all over the place in recent weeks. I am in the process of trying to change my lifestyle. I felt that eating potato was helping me but only to an extent. I am going to try and be more low carb without being extreme to reduce my insulin levels in accordance witby castaway66 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello everyone. I've been trying to lose weight for some time and I am succeeding but it is slow. As I've said in the past, potatoes help me keep daily episodes limited (most of the time) although I have an episode daily for 99% of the time. I need to lose weight a bit more quickly. I don't have any wheat or sugar at the moment (limited fructose as well). I am extremeby castaway66 - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thanks for that information George. I read through the links a yes I can see you are very disciplined with your diet. I listened to a couple of podcasts from Dr Gundry and there is some interesting information there. I may try his diet in the future. Wow there is a lot of stuff to get to understand. I have skimmed over much thinking/information but I am starting to believe I should have a muchby castaway66 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi George thanks for getting back to me and for the information on ablationists. Yes I remember reading something by Volek and Phinney that said salt sometimes stopped palpitations but to be honest I was so ignorant about levels of Mag and Potassium supplementation that back then it didn't help. I was only taking one Magnesium malate tablet a day and agonised over whether to take a 99mgby castaway66 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Jackie thanks for getting back to me. I've read quite a few of your posts over the last few months and found them very helpful. I'm just looking at "the strategy". It's very interesting that you had the arrhythmia with Atkins as well and I've just noticed we both started at 59. I went to see the cardiologist for the first time in December and had a cat angiogrby castaway66 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi everyone. I thought it was about time I introduced myself to the phorum. I've been looking in for a while now and found a lot of interesting stuff. I have had a diagnosis of paroxysmal afib for just over a year but in reality I'm aware of arrhythmias long before that. Sometimes I'd feel my pulse and think that's odd but those times I would not have noticed if I hadn'tby castaway66 - AFIBBERS FORUM
