Travis, thank you for your questions about percentage of proteins, carbs, and even fats one should eat. No one has addressed these questions. I am also wondering the same thing. Does anyone have some thoughts on this? As far as diet is concerned, this is the area in which I have managed my afib. I had an ablation in Oct. of 2015 and have not had afib yet or PACs or PVCs. Jackie, Thank you so much for your response. I appreciate you pointing out that I need to consider the potassium to sodium ratio. So, what should be an appropriate ratio of potassium to sodium? Should this ratio be 4 to 1 if I am understanding the article correctly? I had to reread it several times and I still feel that I need to reread it some more. I am probably not understanding it compby Marsh - AFIBBERS FORUM

I have been wanting to ask a question for a long time. I have been trying to slowly get off my medicine, Metoprolol. My regular cardiologist is okay with me doing this, even suggesting it since I try to eat healthy. I have tried in the past unsuccessfully because I have experienced some extra heart beats. This time it seems to be working because I am making sure that I take approximately 8by Marsh - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thank you so much, Jackie, for the youtube link! This information was very timely for me. I have been debating about the need for more calcium in my diet, and now, I don't need to worry about it. Here is an interesting website. Cronometer, tracking your nutrients Through Dr. Mercola's website, I discovered the cronometer website and decided to give it a try. I basically wanted to know if I was getting enough nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. What did I discovered? I haven't had enough potassium from foods and supplements for my heart today. Thank you, Jackie. One thing I failed to mention. Three days before testing my thyroid (T4 was normal, didn't test for T3), I had finished an antibiotic (Docycl) as a precautionary measure for a tic bite that resulted from a tic embedded in my head. At the time, I didn't think about the possibility of the antibiotic affecting the results of my lab work. However, I don't know iby Marsh - AFIBBERS FORUM
My TSH level has gone from 5.72 to 10.78 in the last 8 months. I only take 1 mg of Nascent Iodine. I am afraid of taking more. I am trying to determine if my diet is a factor for the increase. I tend to eat a Keto/Paleo diet but I do drink green smoothies. Thus, I have count down on the raw greens (such as swiss chard, collards, beet greens, etc.) in the smoothies to see if this is the reasonby Marsh - AFIBBERS FORUM

FYI In February of this year, I developed bronchitis and was prescribed Leviquin. Even though my doctor knew I had ablation, he thought it was safe to prescribed. Within 3 days, my upper legs were extremely weak to the point that I hardly could walk. Here are some questions I asked my EP: 1. What is your success rate for my type of afib? Does 'success' mean no more antiarrhythmic drugs? 2. How long have you been doing ablations? How many have you done in your career? 3. What type of procedures do you use when doing ablations? 4. What possible complications could happen with the ablation? How will you correct these?by Marsh - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie, I have read the book, Eat Right For Your Type by Peter D'Adiamo and own a copy of it as well as a recipe book for blood type A. I am also currently reading Hans Larson's book, Lone Atrial Fribrillation, Towards a Cure. which is a very good book. I wish I had this book long time ago. Hi Kappa, I understand how you are feeling. I, too, was scared about having an ablation. Believe me, I am definitely not an expert here. I am just a novice. There are many other individuals on this forum who have a lot more knowledge and experience than I do. I just want to encourage you to go ahead with the ablation. Murray, Since my ablation in Nov, I have noticed myself getting out of breath more too. It happens when I talk too fast or do garden work without resting . Approx. 10 years ago I had a bad case of double pneumonia (70% of one lung filled, and the other lung almost completely filled). So, I do have scarring on one lung. The Doctor's Best magnesium (elemental) pill is magnesium glycinate/lysinate chelate (not buffered). The magnesium powder is also mag glycinate. It is the powder form, I believe, you take. After my ablation, the doctor had me take 100 mg flecinide (morning and evening) and 25 ml of metoprolol (derivative of toprol) for a month.
