Lance, i do not know the answer to any of your questions, sorry, maybe somebody else will answer you. I read your post because i use S boulardii my self, though not for an anti-yeast program. I use it because it allows me to eat foods containing gluten and lactose. I happened onto this happy effect by accident about maybe a year ago now, and have kept it up ever since. As a matter of fact, i amby PeggyM - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Diarrhea is a big pain in the lower parts, among other things. I despise it myself, and it is a serious hazard to an afibber. I use very few prescription drugs. For me, immodium is great stuff. I use it a lot, and i used to live on the stuff before i found the S. boulardii. It is, first of all, a drug. Immodium has some kinship to the habit forming opiates, though it is neither habit forminby PeggyM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Murray, none i know for sure but magnesium. Citrate is the worst for that, with the oxide a very close second. But if you are already inclined to diarrhea, nearly anything will give you a fresh session of it. I had some years recently where it seemed like everything gave me the trots, including any form of fish oil, cinnamon in quantity enough to be tasted, cocoa powder, almonds, coconut, and oby PeggyM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Louise, are you gluten-intolerant as well? If so, try the S. boulardii from Hans' vitamin store at iHerb. Works for me and i would like to know if it does for anybody else. PeggyMby PeggyM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello Bear. Back in '99 when i started getting afib episodes they happened once or twice a year. A few years passed and i retired and returned to my home state of Maine. About that time afib episodes began to happen more frequently but for very short periods of time. Then i discovered this site and began learning about electrolyte supplementation and paleo diet. Once i got the combinatiby PeggyM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello Shaun. Yes, i am still using S. boulardii, and it is still effective. I can eat both bread and ice cream, and a whole host of other "normal" everyday foodstuffs. I get it from Hans' vitamin store at Iherb. I am going to investigate some local stores to see if they carry what i have heard is a cheaper priced brand called Florastor. If it turns out to be effective, i will usby PeggyM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Mark, my doctors all want me to take rat poison for the rest of my life. I do not want to be as stupid for the rest of my life as i was while taking said rat poison. I do not think life is worth living if i have to spend it in that condition. I feel defiant about that, but it does not feel like bravery to me. It feels like the only way to regain a little control over my life. If i paid a lot ofby PeggyM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jill, i do not know how to answer that question, though Jackie is likely to be able to do so. I can recommend the one i use, though, and tell you why i use it. Joe, the only thing i have found effective in converting tachy to NSR has been potassium supplementation. I use the NOW brand of potassium gluconate powder from Hans' vitamin store at iHerb, as do many here. Carol, hello from another enthusiast for S boulardii. Altho it is not advertised anywhere i can find as being able to reverse celiac or lactose intolerance, for me it has done both. Darcy, i will second that sentiment. I am still taking S. boulardii and eating normal food again. Payday is tomorrow and food is running a little thin here. Hello Louise. Until i started using S.boulardii i was nearly living on immodium. No harm from it that i ever found. I thought i was more likely to get afib from having diarrhea than from stopping it with immodium. Feel free to use it, i really do not think there is any afib problems with it. Lynn, when i first started taking taurine, it was with the intention of increasing the amount of magnesium i could take without diarrhea. It definitely helped with that, though not as much as a course of S. boulardii. You might want to try that. PeggyMby PeggyM - AFIBBERS FORUM
No need to message to inquire. I am taking S. boulardii that i get from Hans' vitamin store. I am very pleased with it. "Some have now been able to introduce sensible amounts of carbs back into their diet and still maintain NSR." I have been pushing my luck here by straying very far from the semi-paleo diet i have been eating since maybe the fall of 2003, if my faulty memory has got that right. Hello Tish, pardon me for changing the subject, but did you ever try the S. Boulardii? How did it go, any benefit that you can detect? I am still able to eat both wheat and icecream. The wheat does now sometimes give some "acid indigestion", but certainly not like it used to do.
