DAB; Oh, I could have written your letter! I was 65 when the "fib " hit. After a year of being treated by a cardio MD, then an EP in this area, using every drug and technique in their "arsenal" (with three close-to-the-edge episodes), their only option for me was a pacemaker. Having a background in chemistry I was confident this could all be cured by chemical means -by AnnieK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Susan! I'm so glad to hear you are doing so well! Yes, it's been ONE YEAR since being "reborn". I had my ablation immediately after yours and I too am doing better than I would have ever dreamed... maybe a normal day for Dr. Natale and staff, but a great day for us! There isn't a day that goes by that I am not grateful for all those who posted on this websby AnnieK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon; My prayers are with you and your wife. Your wife is lucky to have a person who can do the research you do to find the top experts in any field. Shannon, despite my skepticism, you steared me and so many others to Dr. Natale and helped save lives. I have no doubt you have done the same to help your wife and feel success and good health will follow. I wish you both the best nextby AnnieK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Susan; So glad to hear you are doing better. Since we had our Natale ablation the same morning, I too celebrated the 6 week mark yesterday. I feel 110% and just heard today that my Linq report was excellent. I will be able to get off Multaq in a couple weeks ( 60 days total). I love not taking meds, but do appreciate them when I need them. I will remain on Eliquis and Cardizem, Lby AnnieK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Wow, the place was loaded with the "web folk". You all are vets at this - I was probably too tense to party and still very short of breath afterward. I had to stay another day to get rid of extra fluid and hadn't slept in 3 nights so when I could I crashed very hard. I still knew I was better despite all of that. I probably let this go on way too long, but hopefully thereby AnnieK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Susan; I had my ablation with Dr Natale the same day you did and flew back last night. Like you, there was nothing functional about my life, the high HR, fluids accumulating and gasping for air trying to do even the smallest tasks. Life was on hold; business suffered, vacations cancelled, weddings missed. I went through the airport to Austin in a wheelchair, but I walked briskly to the gates oby AnnieK - AFIBBERS FORUM
I do want that second opinion and think Dr Natale is the person I would find most credible. I was also considering the Cleveland Clinic, but if you can recommend anyone in the Southeast US I would also consider them. I am gathering my medical records now and will contact one or two of them soon. My Internal Med Dr thinks I need this procedure sooner rather than later, so the wait may be aby AnnieK - AFIBBERS FORUM
First, thanks to all on this board who offer so much information and support for those of us with this disease. This is my first post so I’ll give you a brief history. 1. May 2013 during a routine visit with EKG, my Dr sent me directly to the ER as the HR was 160 and the ekg showed irregularities. Heparin drip and then a Lopressor IV to get BP down which was quickly removedby AnnieK - AFIBBERS FORUM
