Carey - thanks, that's something to rethink about and I'll be discussing with my doc to determine if b12 was a trigger for me since my episode came when I started taking it. The b12 standard range is 123-730 and mine was 200. So I'm within range but doc felt it was a "low normal". I'm finding out the rule is everybody and every condition is different! Lilly - since my 2018 afib episode, my EKGs are "abnormal". Everytime I question it I'm told it's due to the way my heart is positioned ("left axis" something). I'm being told "don't worry, we'll let you know if it's a concern". It's almost impossible for me to not worry! I've had 3 documented episodes of afib (2006,2018, 2021by Muntz - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ken - Thanks for sharing that info! I haven't been told yet that I need an ablation. But if my cardiologist decides to recommend someone, I'll definitely check them out! I appear to be having more afib episodes the older I get (no stopping that!). It was 10yr between first and second episode, then 3yr before the third which was this week. Wolfpack - so glad you shared so I don't feel so lone ranger! Did an EP at Duke do your ablation? I was seeing Dr Jackson a year ago but had a follow up visit with a member of his team who was a condescending jerk. Hoping to find a good EP at Wake. With this condition, I need all the compassion I can get! They refused to agree to my Kardia. They said they weren't fans. Once I was told Iby Muntz - AFIBBERS FORUM
You are all so brave and give me hope. I've had ectopics since teens but usually 100 or so a day. First Afib in 2006, converted within a few hours. Second afib 2018, converted on it's own within 8hrs. Third afib yesterday which converted within a few hours. I take Eliquis and Metoprolol daily. Each time it converted back was after taking an Ativan to settle my nerves. I was taking Diltiby Muntz - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Liz, I had my first ever abnormal ECG a couple of months ago and like you, I wanted to understand what the results meant. I asked my cardiologist and was told "nothing to be concerned with". I contacted my EP and was told "we'll let you know if there's ever a concern ". I trusted them but really wanted to know what all that verbiage on the results page meant. Itby Muntz - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately my Drs say since I'm older now and since AF is progressive the chances are great I'll have them more frequently. I guess that's why I live everyday in fear that each skipping beat is going to cause another episode. Just reading about others going on with their lives regardless of what might happen, is so uplifting! I find reading this foruby Muntz - AFIBBERS FORUM
GOD BLESS YOU ALL! I can't begin to describe the comfort and ease of my anxiety by reading your posts. I'm 66yo and deal with every moment worry just thinking when is my next AF episode! Had my first in 2005 lasted 10hr & prescribed aspirin; second AF in 2018 lasted about 12hr. and prescribed eliquis, flecainide and Diltiazem.
