Liz, I have used GABA and found that it can lower blood pressure 30 points in 30 minutes. I definitely would not recommend using it to induce sleep because of the possibility of the reaction you received. You might try melatonin in a dose of 5 mg to 10 mg. I've got to agree with Carey on this one. Thirty beats per minute may be okay in a young athlete, but not a 75 year old. In fact, I think it is dangerous. Chris, I have been trying Astragalus (Huang Qi) for the last few months. I use a standardized extract from a reputable company that tests all their products for contaminants. Welcome Chrrev, let me state the obvious, make an appointment with a cardiologist and get a workup and diagnosis. There are medications that will help your heart problems and lower your blood pressure, but you will probably need a cardiologist to tell you what will likely work best for you. There are also supplements that will likely help. However, the rule is first diagnosis, then treatment.by Jim Benton - AFIBBERS FORUM

What Carey and Shannon have said is correct. However, I hope you are taking more than one capsule per day--28 mg per day seems very low. Different forms of magnesium can have very different absorption rates, therefore, it can be difficult to determine how many capsules an individual should take each day.
