Has anyone here tried the Vit C, L-lysine and Proline method for lowering
plaque in arteries?

Hello Dee,
Well, I can only tell you of our experience.
My 84 y o Dad had heart failure (2 bouts of rheumatic fever in his life damaged his heart) and was hospitalised about 3 weeks before he died in 2004.
I'd been researching the Pauling method about a month before that and had ordered the heart preparation from Tower Heart Technologies from the USA. When it came, Dad took it (he was sceptical but trusted me enough to try it). He was able to take it for about 5 days before he had to be hospitalised and he said it took away the pain in his chest but the doctors (of course), wouldn't let him take anything 'unorthodox' in the hospital.
Unfortunately, most people of my Dad's generation trust every word the doc said and don't question anything. So he was too afraid to go against what the doctor advised and wouldn't let me smuggle it into the hospital for him. In addition to his heart problems he had stomach ulcers from the aspirin he'd been taking for years (doctor's advice) to thin his blood - plus other medication-caused complications. Possibly his heart may have been too damaged for the disease to be reversed at that late stage, but it would have been wonderful if we could have continued using the powder - who knows? - he might still be here today. The medical profession have a lot to answer for in their refusal to look at the evidence of the value of complementary/alternative therapy. The Tower Heart Technology powder is expensive to import to Oz. but what price can one place on good health?
At least the powder would have done no harm!
Hope someone else can add their experience to this post.
warmest greetings from Oz smiling smiley
Emmie

Emmie, thanks for answering. When my son in law was in the hospital for a bad strep infection, he was in a coma for 2 weeks. My daughter begged the Drs to give him intravenous Vit C. They acted like she had asked them to use poison. He is almost back to normal after 3 months. He had had a kidney transplant, a few months before that.

Anyway I had a cardio-cath in Feb, to eleminate any blockages that might be causing my afib. I had none but did have some plaque build up.

I asked what I could to keep the plaque from growing. All the Drs said to start statins, which I can't take. I use a high dose of niacin to keep my cholesterol around 230. Nothing else works, so I started searching the internet and found Linus Pauling!! His protocol sounded so simple I wondered why no one had suggested it. I ran it by my primary Doc and he said go for it. So I'll let you and everyone else know whenever I get my calcium numbers done again. I'm very excited.

Thanks so much for your input.

Hi,

Last November there was an interesting Vitamin C topic: Opinions to the contrary, Linus Pauling was always right about Vitamin C:

...which followed shortly after this Vitamin C topic: Must see video

Erlling, Thank you very much for all the info on "C"

I'll keep everyone updated on my progress. Although I probably won't be haveing a calcium score done for awhile.

I am 72 so feel like keeping placque at a minimun is important to me at this time. All of my family either died of heart problems or had heart surgery way before the age of 70, my son died of a massive, instant heart attack at age 50.

To view the video of the 'Must see video' topic referred to above, go to Dr. Thomas Levy's website [www.tomlevymd.com] and scroll down to:

Power of Vitamin C Featured on 60 Minutes

"Never has the medical bias against high-dose vitamin C been so blatantly obvious in a mainstream media report. You'll want to watch this 60 Minutes segment about a man in New Zealand who was as good as "dead" shortly after contracting the H1N1 virus. View below..."

Erling,
That was a truly amazing video. I don't understand WHY the medical comunity will not use C?

A short story about my X husband. He got esophgal cancer about 7 years ago. He was treated didn't work, was sent home to die, hospice was going to come in .My daughter moved in and started putting Vit C powder and other nutrients down his stomache tube. She called me, within 24 hours he was better! Within a week sitting up. He was well for about 4 years, then got lung cancer, no Vit C.[heavy smoker] and died fairly quickly.

Now we don't know if the C would have helped him that time, but the Drs refused to try

Again thanks for all the ifo. I feel so much better useing the Trio for the afib and since adding the C and L-lysine even better. It might be the placebo effect but I'll take it whatever it is.

My GP recently said to me that I knew more about Obstructive Sleep Apnea and AFib than he did.... if it could not be fixed by holding my hand, giving me a pill or a shot, or referring me to a specialist, he did not wish to discuss it.

So much for modern medicine.

When I have my Ferrari worked on it is by someone who does nothing but Ferrari's. When I have my Ford worked on it is by the Ford dealer. I want someone with the most knowledge in the area being demanded of him to be my 'go to guy'.

Doctors are neither perfect nor gods. Find the best one that you are able to and understand that you need to educate yourself as much as you are able to.

I am a firm believer in Vitamin C and take 1,000mg a day time release and often 2,000mg a day b.i.d. time release. I cannot provide empirical data but I can tell you that in my gut I know it is of great benefit.

And while all around me suffered all Winter, I didn't have as much as a sniffle of a cold.
