Romaine lettuce/folate holy cow

I make 3, sometimes 4 smoothies a day with Romaine lettuce and holy cow does that ever make my heart quiet.

I also take a supplement most days of folate 5-MTHR, mindful not to go over 1000mcg a day, as too much folate can cause permanent nerve damage (not sure where though).

Romaine is so far the highest folate vegetable that I know of, and drinkable smoothies are easier for me to consume than making salads. I mix it in the blender with some 4C fruit drink mix.

Has anybody else had any luck with folate?

I have a health issue that has required me since age 11 to take 1mg a day of folic acid. It didn’t help my arrhythmias. I do juice and blend (trying to make V8) and found the natural sugars do cause my heart to rumble. I love my juicer because after I finish my drink I add the veggie pulp to my bone ingredients for bone broth soup, put it all in my ninja for 10 minutes and get natural calcium broth which I strain the fat and freeze and use frequently.

Folate is found in legumes, leafy greens, nuts, beets...and I eat all of those, mostly leafy greens and nuts, but I have some nice large beets with leafy tops ready to enjoy. The beets also have nitrates which helps to relax blood vessels, which in turn lowers blood pressure.
