Is the Esophagus Spared during Pulsed Field Ablation? Early Histopathology & In Vivo Esophageal Retraction

If you are a swine it heals in 14 days.
So, it does cause lesions, or should be expected to, but the lesions are not as deep and spare the vascular structure, so they heal inside of 14 days. I guess that's good news, but I wish the article had offered a current comparative with RF ablation. Also, I don't understand the retraction of the esophagus that was concluded as an 'event', as if the PFA encourages to the esophagus to shrink away from the energy being applied. Bizarre.
Maybe PFA causes some muscle stimulation which causes the muscles of the esophagus to contract and thereby pull back from the esophagus. Pure speculation on my part but it sounds plausible.
