Stereotactic Arrhythmia Radioablation (STAR) for refractory ventricular tachycardia– the initial Australian experience

Only 9 survived the blanking period.

All treatments (25 Gy in one fraction) were delivered without anesthesia.

I can say from experience that a Stereotactic biopsy is painful without anesthesia . I had about 7 after a mammogram showed 16 suspected masses. I had to stay very still while a large metal arm was positioned and then stared to drill very slowly into my body. I hope it’s different for a heart…
