Pulse field ablation vs RF for 3rd ablation

Pulse field ablation vs RF for 3rd ablation

A fib is back. I'm a very active 63 year old out hiking, skiing, and working out just about everyday. Unfortunately, I had a mechanical heart valve 18 years ago, my first Cryo ablation 12 years ago, and a RF ablation a year and half ago. I've been having a fib about once a week when I use the pip with flecanide which normally works in 3 hours. I went to a local EP in the Reno area and was wondering about PFA. He said he recommended RF . I normally see PFA using a loop . Are they developing a pinpoint mechanism?

My EP told me that PFA wasn't really suitable for touch up ablations.

They are working on various solutions for PFA. About a year ago, it was not approved for anything but PVI. It was approved for LAA last summer. They keep fiddling with the implement and modifying it so that it can be applied morphologically to other areas ablated such as the coronary sinus.

I don't see any mention of a touch-point implement, but who knows...?
