homocysteine + afib + vitamin B

A kind gentleman named Glenn found my website, www.endatrialfibrillation.com, a few days ago and emailed me. (He let me know that Google made sure that the site was buried deep, which I had already figured out.)

In his email, he told me about afibbers.org, which I had never heard of. I would have given anything to have found this site years ago when I was living the hell of Afib.

I had Afib for TEN years - Lone Afib - and it was rough. Two or three times a week, lasting a few hours or up to 2-3 days. I saw four cardiologists, and all of them wanted me to take beta blockers. I did, finally, in the last year because i went into Afib and couldn't get out. It didn't make any difference to the frequency, but the intensity lessened a little.

Anyway, I found a solution thanks to my wife's advice and her doctor. I haven't had Afib in six years, except once - when I got Covid - and it went away within an hour and has never come back.

My story is on www.endatrialfibrillation.com

As I wrote on this site, I have no idea if this would help everyone, but I can say without any doubt that it worked for me.

Thank you for your site, afibbers. It's wonderful.

Glad your Afib has stopped. Looking at your site, you may have jump-started your methylation cycle with that combination of B vitamins and yes, that should lower your homocysteine.

Good observation.

A bit more on the topic for those with interest.....

Yes, just went through my annual checkup. Homocysteine was 10.5, and when I first read it years ago - before taking Vitamin B - it was 13.2

I think this is something great to try. I think little downside and improving your homocysteine is nothing but beneficial for health.

I've kept mine low for 10 or 12 years (with B's) but never noticed an impact on my afib.

Go figure, right? I had Lone Afib, what version do you have?

I've had paroxysmal (intermittent) afib, AKA Lone Afib for 20 years. It is very well controlled, with very little afib burden (time in afib), however improving my homocysteine didn't change anything. However, it certainly would be worthwhile for someone to try.
