high resting HR after ablation

I guess it's normal to have a high HR after and ablation. I had a cryoablation on Monday and today Friday it seems to be going up and not down. I think I saw it below 80 earlier this week and now it's in the mid 90's, sometimes upper 90's.

It's making me a little anxious. I have no pain or thumping and it's not loud, just fast and worrisome.

If you know you're in NSR, you have nothing to worry about. If your beat can be felt, and it's strong, you're good. The elevation is due to heart damage, limited though it is, but also due to simply standing, moving about, or just worry.

Agreed, I wouldn't worry about it too much unless the resting HR is above 100. In my case it came down from 80's to 60/70' in a month after ablation.

A HR in the 90s isn't a big deal. No reason to be anxious about it. That was pretty typical for me following an ablation and it lasted months, but it does come down eventually.

After my first ablation many years ago, my heart rate was elevated above normal, and it took about a year to return to where it was pre ablation.

It's actually good news. Here's an older study, but I believe I've seen more recent.

Thanks for that article. I had a cryoablation not the RF kind, but I'll take that as a positive sign anyway.

My HR is pretty much 93 during the day and I can keep it below 100 when I'm on my feet so I think I'll walk a mile on Monday. I'll have to go very slow. I have the lawn to mow coming up but we have a small plot, 80' by 80' and much of that is taken up by the house, shed, and driveway plus two gardens. I'm not used to taking it this easy.

I think I saw 84 when I first woke up and was still in bed. Basically I feel pretty good and can feel some very slight pains in my chest very occasionally but nothing that persists or even requires tylenol.
