I understand there's a moderate interaction between the two drugs and I will of course check with my doctor, but just wondering if any of you have been allowed to take the two together?

Its just a 'caution advised ' interaction, so may be allowed. If it is not allowed and you are interested in other options, let me know. I worked on a medical team during 2021-23 that had other successful OTC recommendations for treatment.

Thanks. Will do. Some centers still do the monoclonal antibodies, but I think it's the Recc for 3 consecutive days so logistically I might not be able to start till Monday. Paxlovid would be the easiest

I was told by my EP that they were ok to take together. I had no problems doing that. Good luck.

The Paxlovid can modestly increase the effects of diltiazem, so your doc can just adjust the dosage if needed.

I'm on 120 to 150 a day using 30 mg tabs with 4-5x/day dosing. It's not to keep my heart right down. It's for something else non-a fib related. If I remember correctly, I think I'm allowed up to 400 mg a day. I've never taken that much.

I doubt your doc would say no. They would just tell you to reduce the diltiazem if you experienced symptoms like dizziness, feeling faint, etc.

I take 120 mg once daily for hypertension in extended release form. You're taking close to that but need 4x5 doses. Wouldn't it be easier to ask for extended release?

Yes, I think at some point if this was going to be an every day thing, I might try the extended release. But on the shorter term, I appreciate how I can titrate the fast acting tabs per symptoms. The doctor did finally give me a go ahead and the first three Paxlovid tabs are down the hatch.
