Creatine and Afib

I take it but read some conflicting info online...some sites say to avoid if you have afib, some others say it's good for the heart. Any first hand experiences here? Thanks.

I take 10g//day without issue.

Wow, do you cycle it or it's an everyday thing? May I ask why 10 vs the standard 5? Thx.

No cycling. I did 5 for a while, then, as I recall, I looked at the g/kg dosing and decided 10 was OK. The cognition benefits were my motivation for taking it, though it probably benefits my resistance training too. Again, as I recall, I didn't see a negative to doing 10. I'm age 68, 13-14% fat and 23 bmi.

I do a lot of 90 second isometrics (timed static contractions - TSC - 30 seconds at 50%, 30 at 70% and 30 at 100% or "as hard as you dare). I also do bodyweight training as well, sometimes isokinetic training as well. For long duration endurance activities I train at Zone 2, nominally always nasal breathing. I learned ~19 years ago empirically that this made long duration activity not an afib trigger if I limited it to this intensity. I also do short duration HIIT & SIT, like 8 reps of 20:10 (20 seconds absolutely at max effort, sprint from danger pace, 10 seconds easy at 50 watts) Tabatas on a fan bike. For me, short duration high intensity is not a trigger.
