Pain medication a trigger

Has anyone found that pain medication to be a trigger for afib? About a year ago I found that when I take percocet it could trigger my afib but was not sure if it was that alone. I quit taking the percocet even though I was taking very low amount just not to deal with the afib. I deal with my pain now without the percocet. My cardiologist and family doctor both say they have never heard of it but it has given me episodes. Has anyone had percocet trigger their Afib? I have had a difficult time finding anyone else beside myself that have had this trigger.

I've also never heard of that being a trigger for anyone.

Does acetaminophen do the same thing? Percocet is a combination of oxycodone and acetaminophen, so if acetaminophen doesn't cause it then it's the oxycodone. You could ask your doc to try hydrocodone instead.

Just the percocet.

Just the percocet.

Then it must be the oxycodone. Ask your doc to change to something else.
