How to find the best EP?

Hi, my afib episodes started after a bad bout of CoviD, mid February. Still recovering- possibly long covid.

My general cardiologist told me I'm a good candidate for ablation. Athlete with no other health issues.

Is there a way to find what the top institution are for ablation? I don't mind traveling ( although the idea of flying scares me now).

No idea what your athletic activities are, but chronic fitness can be a path to afib, it was for me 18+ years ago. Here is a thread on the topic. I found that endurance activity at a Zone 2 intensity as described by Iñigo San Millán PhD (researcher at University of Colorado Health & coach of several Tour de France winners) in these two (1 2 ) podcasts is mostly not a trigger for me.

The short answer is to go to Austin to Andrea Natale. There are many here who have gone to him, including our two moderators. Not the only answer but IMO the best. Also, he will actually do your ablation, not be supervising a Fellow.

Endurance level: run 5K 3-5 times per week. Run 2 half marathons per year. Used to run more but covid messed up my endurance already pre afib.
