My Successful (So Far) Self-Treatment
December 20, 2009 11:04AM
Hi All,

I've begun blogging about atrial arrythmias, and I just wrote a longish post about how I approached my own arrythmia, which is now well under control. It's not so much about particular treatments as it is about how to go about finding successful ones. I hope others will benefit. Please let me know what you think!

Read your blog. How long is it since you had success in controlling your arrythmia?

Hi Nick,

I was very intrigued and wish you continued success. It must be a great feeling to at least know that you are making headway on this confusing condition.

I live in Australia and have never heard of Waller Water. Could you tell me more about it and where does one purchase it from.

warm regards,

Julia

ps, if I have to make this Waller Water from scratch myself, I will need to be given extremely easy instructions that I can understand (these things go right over my head).

thanks greatly,

Julia

Julia,

Here are the only set of instructions that I know of for making it:

I hope it's not too technical!

Nick,

Sounds like you are fortunate to have nipped this in the bud like you have, good work!

Julia,

Here is some more discussion on Waller Water. You can search here for more discussion.

Also note that Erling was mimicking "Unique Water" when he created the Waller Water recipe. Unique Water is sold in Oz. [www.uniquewater.com.au]
Unique water used by a poster here:

Alex could not find "milk of magnesia" in Oz. So he substituted pure magnesium hydroxide which seems to work fine.

Hi everyone, thanks for all the posts on the Waller Water.

Does that mean I can purchase the Unique Water here in Oz and take that?

Or does something else need to be added to it??

I hope its as simple as just taking the Unique Water and thats it!

hello again julia, unique water provides magnesium but nothing else. by all means get it and use it. if your afib goes away then that is it. but if you are still having afib episodes, then add potassium to the mix. if you then stop having afib episodes, then no need for anything else, but if you are using unique water to drink and cook with and are getting 3to 5 grams of potassium each day without fail, and still having afib episodes, the next thing to try is adding taurine.

Julia - Peggy meant that it doesn't provide much in the way of other electrolytes, but the magnesium water does provide another benefit and that is the alkalizing effect from the bicarbonate component. Many find this to be instrumental in eliminating their afib because of neutralizing a highly acidic system. It would be hard to list all of the benefits one receives from alkalizing an acidic body and the far reaching (but subtle) improvements in overall health. The majority of people are far too acidic and an acidic system does not support health; just the opposite.

Julia,

I think Unique water would be an excellent choice.

Waller Water is significantly less expensive, and not at all hard to make.

If your chemist has magnesium hydroxide, you can mix that in with chilled soda water to make Waller Water (or magnesium bicarbonate water). I'm not sure the proportions. You might have to experiment a bit as Erling gives directions of 3 tablespoons milk of magnesia per liter of soda or carbonated water. Depending upon the form, you may need to put in a different amount. If you put in too much, you'll end up with a precipitate at the bottom. This is not an issue & if you do, just adjust the quantity down the next time.

Nick - I love that you did this. You're systematic in your approach and logical in your deductions. I agree with your thought that we all have different paths to afib, some being digestive, some being stress, others being inflammation, and so on. While I'm on a reprieve right now with Flecanide, I think I will probably have to wrestle this thing again in the future. Having some things we can do to improve our situations and if not "cure" ourselves, calm down the afib, is always reassuring. For me, I could always get my afib to stop with a walk - sometimes fairly quickly, some times a 1/2 hour or more brisk and varied pace was needed. Being able to DO something to alleviate the afib or make it stop, was what kept me sane through the many, many episodes of afib I've had.

I will look into the Waller Water too. Thanks for the reassurance you give that there are things that can still be done, with greater success if we pay close attention to our bodies and use some logic.

Congratulations on your success - may NSR be your constant companionsmiling smiley

We all try different paths--I was afib free for about 6 months, did I have the receipe for a cure, I guess not, but if we can try to eliminate afib as much as possible that is a good thing.

Barb: Thanks so much!

Liz: Yeah, it always pays to remember that "cure" is often a relative word in this context, at least for the time being.
