I had my first Pulsed Field Ablation in Nov 2025 6 months ago, Before that I had vagal triggered afib for the last 5 years about 4-5 times a year.
Since the ablation I have not gone into afib but I have had something new, when the things happen that used to trigger PAC's and then AFib(swallowing, leaning forward or bloating) I now get a short run of double speed heartbeats (6-7) then resets to NSR, at first i thought this might be the scare tissue healing from the ablation but it's still happening 6 months down the track.
Has anyone else experienced this and is it a sign of future problems.

Short runs of tachycardias are not unusual post-ablation, even at six months. The heart can continue to heal, well beyond the formal 3-month blanking period. Ablations can also unmask other arrhythmias, so it could also be that. Or it may just be a fast run of PACs.

If you wanted more clarity, a 1-2 week Zio Patch would probably be the best way, given how short the episodes are.

On a personal note, I had a 3-hour AF episode six months post-ablation, yet no AF in the 2 1/2 years since. So in your case, I wouldn't be overly concerned that this necessarily points to future problems.

FWMOIW, I agree with mjamesone. The stories shared widely about AF ablation recovery are astoundingly varied. People report resting HR in the 90's for up to a year, and next they realize it's reliably near 70 BPM or less. Or, they'll get several runs of an undefined tachyarrhythmia, but next they look they've had no arrhythmia for 6 months or more. Some ablations are obvious failures inside of days (six in my case), where others run successfully well beyond 5-10 years.

We shouldn't forget that, no matter what, our hearts are now formally disordered electrically. Something is always working its way up toward the surface. Might be flutter, might be PACs, might be PVCs, ....so I cautiously tell people that they should positively enjoy successful ablations, even if they tend to be time-limited. And even successful ablations are not going to keep all hearts from a small temporary run of arrhythmia due to virus loads, inflammation, pollution, sleep deprivation, and on and on and on... Just hope that it is temporary.

Maybe just because after 5 years being hypersensitive to my arrhythmias I now notice these short runs of double speed beats that feels like indigestion (confirmed on my Kardia), I used to get the same feeling when the PAC's started before escalating to AFib. Maybe I had these for many years but never noticed them.

I am happy with the results so far, in the last 5 years I had many dietary changes to reduce the number of times I went into AFib (no calcium or tyramine, stay well hydrated, no sleeping on my left side and no abbs work in the gym) since the ablation I have been able to do all of these without any reoccurrence of the AFIb.
