"Mechanism of Action
Apixaban is an oral, reversible, and selective active site inhibitor of FXa. It does not require
antithrombin III for antithrombotic activity. Apixaban inhibits free and clot-bound FXa, and
prothrombinase activity. Apixaban has no direct effect on platelet aggregation, but indirectly
inhibits platelet aggregation induced by thrombin. By inhibiting FXa, apixaban decreases
thrombin generation and thrombus development. " Source

This method of action is unlike that of warfarin, which acts by destroying vitamin K (and K1 is what impacts clot formation). Hence K2 intake would not impact Eliquis's ability to anticoagulate. For warfarin:
"Mechanism of Action
Warfarin competitively inhibits the vitamin K epoxide reductase complex subunit 1 (VKORC1), an enzyme essential for activating available vitamin K. Through this mechanism, warfarin can deplete functional vitamin K reserves, thereby reducing the synthesis of active clotting factors. " Source

This should only be done when your consulting cardiologist or electrophysiologist agrees with your aims and risk assessment. The article suggests that each thrombolitic added also adds risk of uncontrolled bleeds.

I don't get your point, since K2 and Eliquis have not been shown to interact and K2 does not have thrombolytic activity. My point is it would be a different answer were she on warfarin.
