My ablation

My Ablation is scheduled to start at 9 AM tomorrow. Very anxious but also anticipating putting this beast back to bed.

I am second inline. Hopefully not much longer as we approach the 9 AM central appointment time. I admit I am ready to get this behind me. Looking fr a great outcome at the hands of Dr. Natale.

Just heard a while ago from Tammy, wife of David (Smackman), and also got a brief note from Dr. Natale as well.

He is doing well after his ablation, and had a couple spots from the CS coronary sinus that he had to re-ablate which is a common area for having to touch up when it has not yet required full isolation of the CS in the first ablation. The main areas he had to address in this procedure according to Dr. Natale were the CS and full isolation of his LAA, which was expected, at least by me, with David's past history of long standing persistent AFIB (LSPAF) for over a year at least prior to his index ablation. He did not need LAA isolation during his first ablation, and Dr. Natale wanted to see how far he could go without addressing the LAA when it was not yet showing enough activity to warrant ablation.

Like with Tsco above in his ablation yesterday where Dr. Natale did not find any reason to even delay any singles from the LAA activity as it had no activity of note at all coming from there, and thus he left his LAA completely untouched.

David's overall case too is another example of the fact that Dr. Natale goes to great lengths in each case to insure only those who really need an LAA isolation get one, and he does everything in his power to avoid, or just delay the LAA first and see if it might behave for a decent period of time ... even if eventually he feels its likely the person may have to come back when the LAA does progress into an active trigger source and becomes a final main driver of AFIB/Flutter.

I'll speak with David later today when he is fully awake and back in his room, but Tammy too expressed their gratitude that they were steered to Dr. Natale from our website when they had been referred to a local EP in a modest sized city in Louisiana that, after I did some extensive asking around prior to recommending Smackman to go to Austin, I spoke to a handful of top EPs I know to see what they know of this EP in Louisiana that I was unaware of, and not one of them had ever heard of this EP.. not exactly confidence inspiring to refer someone too for a challenging LSPAF case!

Im sure Smackman will fill us in on all the goings on after he gets back to his hotel tomorrow evening or when he feels ready to do so.

Thats two more up this week from our forum, and now two more checked off the list who should be heading for a prolonged enjoyment of NSR now!

I got a call today from Dr Natales nurse educator asking if I could come firmly touch up Ablation June 16 due to a cancellation. It took me at least 3 seconds today YES😀
A BIGThank you to Shannon for all his help. I can tell you we are so fortunate to have Shannon. He has always been there to help/assist me in any way possible.
This forum has been so good to me and I thank all of you.
I am finally out of the Hospital. I am ready for this touch up Ablation so I can get on with Life. I am so fortunate to get worked in so quick.
