9 Week Post Dr. Natale Ablation Update
May 07, 2015 03:34AM
Hello everyone. It's been a few weeks since I've poked my head in here. I thought I would post a quick update. I'm in my 9th week post my ablation with Dr. Natale and life couldn't be better.

I haven't had a single afib episode or even a heart palpitation since the procedure. Things have been going so well I was given the o.k. to stop taking Eliquis last week!

For those of you unfamiliar with my blog, I'm posting weekly details of my post ablation recovery. You can find them here:

Once the blanking period is over I'll just be posting monthly updates - or whenever I have any afib issues (which hopefully won't be a for a while...knock on wood).

I wish everyone well!

Good news Travis,

One reason Travis has been a bit scarce here recently, in addition to his own blog and family duties, is that he has been a big help to me in planning for the website redesign and with great tips on sorting out this recent technical hiccup with the newsletter mailing transfer process from the prior way of doing it to what will hopefully prove a much easier and more flexible way to communicate with all subscribers to the AFIB Report going forward that I'm busy setting up right now.

Many thanks Travis ... And I'm glad to see things are sailing right along. You are young, otherwise healthy and a perfect candidate for a pretty straight forward minimal procedures process to slay the beast and it sounds like you are off to a super start courtesy of making such a great decision up front.

Cheers!

Travis,

Great news!!

Also had an email from my buddy in Houston who is also at nine weeks post Natale ablation. Likewise, he's had perfect reports the whole time and is very pleased. He also is highly appreciative of the support he's gotten from Shannon as well as the wonderful service he's gotten from Natale's team.

Congrats, Travis. I am so happy for you that things have gone so well.

I'm surprised that you are off the Eliquis, even though you never had an irregular beat. I was under the impression that everyone took that for the full six month blanking period, regardless.

It's been a little over three months for me, but I did have some tachy irregularites for a few days in the first and second weeks. Shirley told me a couple of weeks ago that I have been perfect since then.

Shannon-------do you have any insight into whether or not I should keep taking the Eliquis for the full 6 month blanking period? Or is that a call for Dr. Natale?

Best wishes all!

Sincerely,
Ken

Hi Ken,

You can call your nurse in Austin and ask after the 3 month blanking period, They cut Travis loose a tad early due to zero activity from day one. Often after 3 months its okay to stop if things have been very quiet for a good while so check with them first of course and dont stop unless they give you the green light.

Shannon...glad I could be of help with the newsletter stuff. It's the least I can do for the help and advice you have given me during this whole ablation process.

Thanks everyone else for your well wishes.

Travis
