What is the baby aspirin for Liz? Do you have any history or indication of cardiovascular or arteriosclerotic process in your body that a cardio might have suggested adding a baby aspirin as a preventative for heart attacks?
If the baby aspirin is solely intended as an AFIB-related stroke preventative without also having any history of CVD type heart disease, then its pretty much a waste of time and the risk/reward has been shown now to be not worthwhile in numerous large longer term studies that have published their findings over the last number of years.
Aspirin 'may' have some additional benefits too such as some claimed, but not strongly supported, as an anticancer agent for some forms of cancer and some other possible benefits, but be careful with it too along with cortisol like hormone meds as the combination can increase likelihood of stomach and GI track irritation, bleeding and possible ulceration over time. Not as bad as NSAIDs but HC ( Hydrocortisone or bio-identical cortisol) for example is often best taken with food for that reason to reduce any possible stomach of intestinal irritation which aspirin is well known to be associated with as well.
