Excess Nighttime Urination.

I' m having serious problems with nocturnal polyuria. I have to use catheters because an enlarged prostate overstretched the bladder. During the day emptying the bladder will mean no urge to void for 4 or 5 hours but after emptying the bladder before bedtime I only get 2 hours - or less - sleep before I wake with a real need to urinate. The amount of urine in the bladder when I use a catheter during the day is around half a litre. However the amount on my first wake at night is about a litre.

All I've found in my research so far is advice to reduce water intake especially after teatime - which I already do, don't take caffeinated drinks - which I don't, and the possibility that the cause is excess Vitamin D (I take 5000 iu's daily.)

Any suggestions?

I assume your metabolism is pristine? Insulin resistance and blood sugar dysregulation can cause excess urination.
