Dr. Rath's Cellular Health program

I wonder if anyone else noticed the high dose of Copper that Dr. Rath recommends for treating afib. (See J. Pisano's post "Fantastic Study.." Oct. 24)

Copper is 330 mcg .

His Vitamin C recommendation is a total (combining Rath's Basic and Adjunct Programs) of 1300 IU.

Magnesium is very low at 40 mg. ??

How does this compare with what BB posters are taking?

Hello all,
I have tried contacting them to get the full study. We will see what happens. Maybe it might make more sense in the details....

Richard -

In Dr. Murray's book, Encyclopedia of Supplements.... he states that the
safe and adequate intake of copper for adults is 1.5 to 3 milligrams.

Zinc interferes with copper absorption and is recommended at a ratio to copper of 10:1 so if zinc is supplemented at a dose of 30 mg. then it would require a dosage of 3 milligrams of copper.

He does not recommend copper at a level greater than 3 milligrams.

Copper is an emetic - 10 milligrams produces nausea and 60 milligrams usually produces vomiting. A lethal dose can be as low as 3.5 GRAMS.

Copper toxicity is rare. Then he says someting contradictory.... "It is estimated that daily consumption of 10 - 35 milligrams is probably safe indefinitely - but to keep in mind that such a high doseage of copper adversely affects zinc nutriture."

Dr. Rath's 330 micrograms is indeed a very small amount of copper.
I think that the Mg. is way too low. Pls. read Glutamate Again post, esp. the second one, to see why. Copper at 330mcg is low. That's only .33mg and if one were taking a dose of 15mg of zinc, and do the suggested dose of copper to zinc at a ratio of 3:1, with zinc being higher, then copper should be 5mg. Hope that clarified.
