Another afibber?

Looks like Tony Blair (PM in UK) may have joined the ranks of AF. He became unwell at lunch time today and was diagnosed with an irregular heart, cardioverted and sent home. I wonder if like his wife he will be searching for alternative treatment...

I'll e-mail Tone with the suggestion he reads this forum ( he appparently has a direct line), or try to get Cherie who I beleive is into the Holistic approach to join us. It bad enough to eleminate triggers in a normal life hope his is a one off.
I wasn't thinking you were "flip" at all. I was serious about wanting to know what lifestyle changes you were talking about. I guess it's my drive to research this thing to death, in desparation, that I look for any tiny clue I might find.

Cathy:
I'm sorry. I shouldn't be so flip, sometimes. And I'm very sorry to hear that you've been experiencing prolonged episodes.

I was simply referring to the fact that lifestyle seems to play such an important part in this condition. My problems started when I became so ambitious in my career that I neglected pretty much everything else, including my health. I had many warning signs but chose to ignore them. I think it's no coincidence that this condition has affected TB after a hugely stressful, and exhausting few months. personally, I have no idea how those guys do it, but for me, I had to realise that I was either going to continue getting worse, until permanent AF hit me, or change my job, diet and outlook on life - which I eventually did.

But that's just me - everybody is different.

He has a very young family, and I hope that he takes this as a significant warning on what he's putting himself through.

But I hasten to add that there's no single 'reason' for AF, and not everyone is in the position where they can make big changes.

I hope things can settle for you very quickly.

Really interesting to hear about Tony Blair. He certainly has a pretty stressful life. Hope for his sake it is not AF, but if it is, the condition might suddenly get a lot more publicity here in the UK. The time scale of diagnosis, cardioversion and home in one afternoon seems rather quicker than usual for first AF episode! Where did you hear about this, Fran? Will watch the next news bulletin.
