Weight Gain

I've noticed that i had put on quite a bit of weight on since my Afib exactly a year ago. But sure if that could be the Beta Blockers which i stopped taking nearly 2 months now. Or could the suppliments cause it as well,
I'm not a big eater either, always had a varied diet. Don't even eat as much chocolate as i used to.

Hi babs,

Yes, I think some of your weight gain could be attributed to the Beta- blockers. I too, gained almost twenty pounds over the first year on atenolol and it was a stuggle to get half of it off. It also affected my cholesterol. My cholesterol level had alway been good, now it is so-so. Check with the PDR ( Phsicians Desk Reference), it will tell you these have been found to be some of the side effectsfor Beta blockers, unfortuately.

Good luck,
