colonoscopy is done:)

A while ago I asked questions about the prep for colonoscopy. Finally did it on Monday. This my first time doing it, and I had to cancel it once because I was in Afib (this happened before my index ablation last July). Used Suprep Bowel Prep Kit, it was effective, but taste horrible I almost vomited lol. Next time I will ask for tablet instead.

Because the procedure was 9:30 am I had to get up at 4:30 am for the 2nd prep. When I got up my heart was racing badly at 120/min and I was lightheaded. I was so afraid it will lead to Afib, so I took 30mg of Diltiazem immediately. Fortunately HR came down to 70's after 20 minutes.

The procedure went smoothly, I alerted the anesthetist and doctor that I have Afib, they assured me no epinephrin is involved. I also asked if Suprep Bowel Prep Kit could cause increased HR/Arrhythmia, they said it's possible. I had plenty of coconut water so I think I was well hydrated.

I'm happy to see that it went reasonably well. The prep is not pleasant, and it requires revolving intrusions into what ought to be a routine day. Then, you start to feel sh...y. :D

I thought the best part was waking and allowing a gratifying long, and loud, expulsion of flatus. That made my day. Who cares who hears?
