Diltiazem as PIP?

I had a PFA almost 6 months ago, no Afib so far, resting HR 65-70. This morning my heart rate is jumping between 75-112, much faster than normal but no Afib. I took some magnesium and hopefully it will quiet down. Just wondering if it continues can I take Diltiazem as PIP? EP prescribe it for me after ablation, have not been needed to take it.

Thanks!

Curious where you did the PFA as it was only recently approved. Was it part of a clinical trial? I am trying to find out who has it in California.

You should get your EP’s permission on how many mg in a 24 hour you can take. I take it twice a day (120mg CD-time release) and up to one 60mg fast release not to exceed 300mg total in a 24 hour period. But I have a pacemaker and can handle it.

You need to ask your EP what your max in a 24 hour period is.

I take Diltiazem whenever my HR is over 110 and I am in afib and it drops nicely to around 80bpm. Feels so much less anxiety producing at a lower rate. I do take only a chip too and that is enough to lower my HR but not make me extremely sleepy.

Good luck with this and all the rest.
