Thanks for the info & link, ggheld. When I talked with the pharmacist yesterday, she said it wouldn't be necessary to taper off since it was such a low dose and for such a few days (7 days). She also said I should take it first thing in the morning, with food...I asked if I could take it with my other morning meds and showed her the (laminated) list of meds info that I carry with me, aby SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, Liz and Carey! I sure do appreciate the collective wisdom on this site!!! Oddly enough, later yesterday the tinnitus went away & has not come back, and my temperature later yesterday and today was back to normal.by SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks, The Anti-Fib and ggheld....I didn't know that about tapering off and I will for sure ask the pharmacist when I pick up my Rx. The Nurse Practitioner I saw yesterday said it was a minimal dose of 20 mg/daily, and only for 7 days. Again, I'll be picking the pharmacist's brain about tapering off, especially since the NP said it was a really low dose but said nothing aboutby SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, pmcaz, Carey, and The Anti-Fib ! Great input and advice!!! Sueby SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM

This morning after my Gentle Chair Yoga class, I was sitting in my car getting ready to leave and noticed a buzzing noise. I thought it was maybe electrical wires and it would go away as soon as I drove off. Nope. I plugged one ear and then the other ear, and noticed tinnitus in my left ear. Got home and made an appt but the only person available was a P.A. so that's fine. My temp was 10by SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
My first a-fib episode a couple/few years ago woke me out of a sound sleep around 6 in the morning....all I knew was that I felt funny--not normal at all, and something was going on and it was wrong! Off we went to the ER where I was dx with a-fib and given a calcium channel blocker in an IV...that did nothing so they increased the dose, and again, nothing. Then they switched to a beta blockby SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Gosh, I have a lot of reading to do relative to this thread...and so many other threads as well! It's now close to 1:00 a.m. so I'll have to save it for much later, but thank you so much for posting this, and for those who replied, and for the links! A-fib still scares me & I feel helpless in the face of it. I keep thinking that my "runs" of a-fib won't reby SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for all the helpful info, folks!!! I had no idea about Raglan (bad!) or about D3 (good!). I've used a Neti-pot and also a NeilMed sinus rinse squeezy system. I think the waterpik attachment is along the same lines, although I don't have one. As for leaving food out, after I retired from teaching, I started up again as a personal chef and a caterer. We were taught about tby SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi, I was just wondering what do I do if I get sick with vomiting & can't take my meds because they won't stay down--go to the ER? Get admitted to the hospital? Also, what kinds of OTC or other meds are ok to take if I have a cold and become a stuffed-headed mouth breather --should I quiz my EP about this now before anything happens? BTW, using a nasal rinse never really helpedby SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotelds001 Glad you are doing better! Thanks, lds001 ! It's a scary experience (again!!) and I hope I don't repeat it! Thank goodness for this forum!!!!!by SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
I ended up going to the ER, and the doc there said it looks like a-fib. They hooked me up and monitored me for close to 4 hours, did a bunch of lab tests and a chest x-ray. My BP finally, eventually got back to normal, as did my heart rate. There was no medical intervention for this so that's puzzling. I did ask how long I should wait before going to the ER, should this happen again.by SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the quick reply, and info about increased urination and other info. I'm a Pradaxa, twice a day. Right now, at 4:00pm, my pulse is in the high 140s.by SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
This morning, I took my morning heart/rhythm meds (metoprolol and flecainide) at 10:30am as usual. All was well. At 2:15pm or so (about an hour ago), I noticed that I could *feel* tachycardia so used my BP machine and documented BP of 182/90 and a pulse rate of 136. I tried valsava maneuvers, I coughed, I did the 'bearing down', I drank ice cold water and dunked my face in icby SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you for sharing this info! I've saved it as a pdf on my desktop, and will read it later.by SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you both for your additional posts! I've done the comparison with my home BP monitor at the nurse's office with very little if any difference, so I guess that's good to know, yes? Glad to hear helpful input about your use of metoprolol and PIP Flecainide. My EP ordered an EKG after 3 or 4 days of being in the increased dose of Flecainide--when I first began it, I had toby SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
It sounds like this is working for you! Thanks for sharing!by SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks, rocketritch, for ringing in here. It helps to know others walked this road before me and have more experience than I have! I still have concerns about any change in medications, and my BP being all over the place, and then there's that pesky bradycardia (rare) and tachycardia, too. Sueby SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi, Everyone, I just turned 69 last month, but this month, I had an episode where I *felt funny* last Saturday (11/2/2019) and took my BP which showed something like 165/106 and my racing heart rate was 187 bpm. I tried the vagus interventions with no success, took my BP etc again after a couple of minutes, which was pretty much the same, so after 8 minutes, off we went to the ER--took usby SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Pastor Kevin, I feel for you! I've had past congestion so severe that my sinuses felt as if they had concrete. Decades before I was dx with a-fib, I had been dx with PVCs and didn't know any better so I took some Afrin, the drops, not the spray. They worked and it was so blessed to breathe through my nose --prior to using Afrin, not even a squeak of air was getting in... I knowby SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks, George! I think I'll wait until I'm done with the spray before I try the Waller Water.by SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
What might be the best way to get magnesium when tablets of Doctor's Best chelated magnesium glycinate cause gastrointestinal distress? ("The runs" no matter how or when I take it ... taken with food, take half a tablet taken with food, taken before or taken after food, taken on an empty stomach, time of day, etc etc.) I've been using Ancient Minerals Magnesium Oil spray -by SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you all for ringing in here! I'm sure I'll have a learning curve! Today was another day with the plumber so I will have to recover from that expense. I should have purchased the Kardia sooner!by SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM

I admit I'm tech challenged. My iPhone 7 is a HUGE step up from my original flip phone. I do not have an Apple watch. At the Apple app store, when I search for Kardia, there are Kardia App, Kardia, and Kardia Mobile--and they all have the same icon, so I think it's the same thing. Is this the same as the Kardia 6L (meaning 6 leads??) or is my iPhone too old and I need the origby SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Wow, Lorraine, thank you for sharing this with all of us. We sure have some heroes on this forum, don't we?!!! Sending you hugs, but I'm hugging you very gently, like an air hug (((((Lorraine))))). Sueby SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks, Joe! Wolfpack, thanks for the info about Arestin and Peridex (chlorhexidine) and for the suggestion about using those GUM brand toothpicks (I have some in my desk!) and especially about how they bend themselves into uselessness!by SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Joe, thanks for ringing in here. I am unfamiliar with Thymol except as a component of thyme. That's interesting about your BP. George, the Arestin, the way I understand it, is an antibiotic powder that the dentist put up into the gum "pocket" with a little tool. It's painless and supposedly lasts 3 months. Thanks again! Hi, George, and thank you for your helpful reply. As you said, we are all different, and yet in many ways, what worked for you might work for me as well! I really appreciate knowing what you found helpful, and the links you included. Did you ever try the Arestin (minocycline) stuffed up into your gum pocket areas? Did you feel that the oil pulling was pulling oil up into your gum pocby SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
Eons ago when I was a young adult with challenging acne, I had run the course of the usual acne meds and finally got things under control with Minocycline. Fast forward to now.... at my latest dental cleaning, it was discovered that I have one area that has a deep pocket and I'd like to address that to stop it from getting worse. It was recommended that I use some kind of poke-y tool wby SueChef - AFIBBERS FORUM
