I live in N Ireland. No experts here. The nearest here would be in England - Professors Ernst and Schilling. I didn't consider them initially because 1) their expertise doesn't compare with Bordeaux. 2) They both do PVI only on the first operation; Bordeaux do everything. 3) They monitor you for a day afterward; Bordeaux is 3 or 4 days with constant monitoring. 4) They were consideraby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the replies, folks. I didn't check my blood pressure. I had not used DGL before. I haven't taken any today and it will be interesting to see what tonight brings. I realised that another Ablation was quite possible but really, really hoped it wouldn't be needed. As one who flies a lot, Shannon, you won't know what it took for me to get on that plane. It's over 7 months since my Bordeaux ablation and so far very pleased with the results However I had a very rough night last night. I woke up after about 3 hours and my heart started to race. I did the twist stretch which has been very successful in the past for reducing the pulse rate but even after 10 - 15 minutes there was no change. I relaxed and after a while the rate dropped to 80 -by Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the excellent replies folks. Lance - always good to have a personal experience. petras52. Very interesting on Melatonin. Nothing I googled brought this up but when I enter Melatonin for reflux and LES there are loads of mentions. Nearly all are very positive but one reflux forum member says it gave him Autoimmune disease. However he had used it continuously for a long time. Tby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
Since my Ablation seven months ago every time I consider a supplement for other ailments my first thought is; could it affect the heart rhythm? Ever since the operation (which is going well) I've had a problem with a lax Lower Oesophageal Sphincter. This has troubled me in the past but not as much as since the op. I've ordered the two Supps I've mentioned but I'd like sby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for all your replies, folks. Having read them I lay on my left side last night. Had a few runs of faster/ stronger than usual beats but were short-lived. Unfortunately I had a horrible night. I couldn't find a position that didn't hurt my neck and got very little sleep. I persevered to see what effect there would be on the painful breathing in the morning but there was no diffby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
It's seven months since my Bordeaux ablation and heart rhythm is very good. However a problem I've had since then is nighttime acid reflux. I've had this before and fixed it with Alkaline water and half tcp Bicarbonate Soda before bedtime. (It wasn't caused by too little acid. I tried a Hydrochloric Acid supplement and the problem was instantly much worse.) I believe Iby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM

Very interesting, Jon. Very different from Bordeaux. For example, they only have one point of entry for the catheter - in the right groin.by Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes, on Prof Jais' instructions AC discontinued after 3 months. Since the ablation I've been feeling rotten. I can't walk 50 yards without getting a buildup of pain/pressure in my lower chest. If I try to keep going I get steadily more weak and very unsteady to the point of almost collapsing. Strangely I can, most of the time, do 15 minutes of fairly light weigh training wiby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am scheduled for a Urolift operation on the Prostrate on 6th December; six months after my Ablation in Bordeaux. My heart rhythm has been very good though I've had other problems since. (I'll do a post in detail in the near future on this.) There should only be local anaesthetic used and the procedure will last about 20 minutes. Should I have any concerns? Thanksby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
My Mother had serious dementia. I recommended she be given (my sister looked after her) 3 spoonfuls of coconut oil per day (fortunately she enjoyed the taste) and 500mcg sublingual B12 twice a day. It cured the dementia quite quickly.by Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thanks for the replies. I've already emailed Prop Jais. I'm afraid you're overestimating my local folks. Knowledge of Afib/Ablation is very limited here.by Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for that, George. No. No heavy exercise. Light weights with absolutely no straining. Also no running or even fast walking. Just walking short distances at a leisurely pace. Samby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
It's now 15 weeks since my Ablation in Bordeaux. I've been on NSR since with hardly any PACs. I have been suffering some pain and discomfort in the chest region since that time especially when I walk more that few hundred yards but I can do lightish weight training without any problems. 10 weeks ago I went to A&E and had an ECG, chest x/ray and a range of blood tests. Carey clearly was referring to me. After my Bordeaux ablation I had a degree of Effusion (very common after an ablation) which was clearing up nicely three days later. My post was "Possible Pericardial Effusion after Ablation" as I had symptoms which could have meant Effusion. An Echocardiogram show there was no effusion. Th symptoms are either side effects of Flec and Pradaxaby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM

I had serious reflux a few years ago. I was really concerned about getting Barretts Oesophagus. The reflux was worst at night but I also got it during the day especially when I bent over I have my last meal at 6.00 PM. At 9.45 I have 3/4 teaspoon of of Bicarbonate of Soda.
