Does anyone have experience with or knowledge of natural or drug treatments for this? ((I,m very familiar with operations for the condition).by Sam - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Thanks for the replies, folks Carey. I'll take your advice and wait to see if I get another episode. I'm pretty much doing the things you recommend including ruling out Apnea some time ago and get my thyroid checked regularly. George. I used Flec to convert. I never eat processed food and because my diet is so low in salt that my sodium levels are always borderline low I add a litby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had my Ablation in Bordeaux in June 2018. When a year passed and everything was calm I started to feel very confident. Then a month later I had a 7 hour episode. As the months passed I felt that might be a one-off but 2 nights ago (6mths after the first) I had another episode. This one 3.25 hours. Much as I dread another op because of the cost, having to fly, and the great difficulty I had inby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had an Ablation in Bordeaux June 2018. I had no episodes again until July 2019 when I went into Afib for 7 hours during the night. (I used Metoprolol and Flec). Heart has been calm since, hardly even a Pac. Staying hydrated might seem simple but not in my case: I suffer from Nocturnal Polyuria. I measured my output last night:- 8.15pm - 450ml 10.15pm - 330ml 12.05am - 400ml 3.00am -by Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM

Do the exercise in the standing position. I like to lean against a wall so I'm relaxed. Place the flat of your hands so that palms are on your on your ribs and your fingers are on your stomach. Inhale deeply making sure your ribs are not moving and feel the stomach expand. Don't think at all about breathing out; just concentrate on pulling your stomach all the way in. Mike. have you tried the belly breathing exercise for acid reflux? It cured mine quite quickly. I'll give more details if you're interested.by Sam - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Thanks for klnks, gents. I've looked through them carefully and they will help me be more knowledgeable on Thursday when i see the surgeon who performed the op. Samby Sam - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I had cataract surgery on my right eye 3 weeks ago. I discovered when driving after dark this week that I have the above condition. Internet searches have indicated there is no cure. I will see the surgeon next Thursday and would like to know as much as I can before then. If there really is no cure it will simply be that I can't drive after dark - just too dangerous. That will be a big loby Sam - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Quite a few years ago my wife had high blood pressure. She had gradually put on about 20lbs. I advised her to cut down on foods with gluten. In a short time she had lost the 20 lbs and her blood pressure returned to, and has remained, normal.by Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM

Sorry if I've got what you are saying wrong, George. I assumed you worked out how much you were taking by the teaspoon but I see you weighed it in which case the 20% by weight is, of course, correct. So, just to be absolutely clear: when you say you take 1.8 to 2 grams of mag a day you weigh out and take 9 to 10 grams of DiMagnesium Malate to give you 1.8 to 2 grams of elemental magnesiumby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
George; according to Prescribe for Life website, which sells DiMagnesium Malate, a slightly rounded teaspoon weights just 2 grams and contains 400mg elemental magnesium. 1/2 a teaspoon would be slightly under 200 mgs.by Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM

It's 14 months since my Bordeaux Ablation. I felt after the year mark passed with my heart calm with hardly even a Pac that I could look forward at least years without any problems. Then last night at 2.00 a.m. I woke in Afib. I tried the twisting stretch but no good. At 2.15 I took 400 mg of magnesium and potassium powders. with 50 mg theanine. At 2.45 I took 150 mg flecainide. My ablation in Bordeaux was almost 14 months ago and I'm still having bowel problems. It started as serious constipation for about 3 weeks. Laxido cleared this but I had recurring episodes of constipation and diarrhoea with good spells in between. The good spells gradually became shorter and stopped a few months ago, leaving contiuous problems. I'm having a colonoscopy next month (the Nby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM

I would certainly agree with Carey on polls. However my own experience with coffee was definite. My wife and I had to go to a village 20miles away once a fortnight and as a treat we went to a hotel which did very tasty scones and coffee. I was reluctant to stop and repeated the treat many times before giving up. The result was always the same - Afib about 20 minutes later. Sam PS Decaby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM

Since my Bordeaux ablation my heart has been very calm until this past week when I've been waking a few times during the night with pulse a bit faster and/or stronger than normal and a few pac's. The thought of a camera so close to the heart is a bit concerning. Any thoughts? Thanks Samby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
