Ablated December 2010 by Professor Schilling, St Barts, London. Ectopics at times have been disconcerting but calmer now. Only those who have regained NSR can appreciate the bliss. Long may it last! Remain ever in debt to Prof S for his expertise and this forum for guidance. Kayteeby Kaytee - AFIBBERS FORUM

I did indeed make a specific request to be referred to Prof Schilling and his team at St Barts, heeding the advice of this great forum always to seek the most experienced electrophysiologist. I supplied my GP with all the contact details and information I could find (on the web) about Prof Schilling and cited both personal and factual reasons; important not to make him feel he was being 'oby Kaytee - AFIBBERS FORUM
If this helps, my UK ablation was 6 yrs ago, at that time I was not confident in a local referral and because of the advice given on this forum I informed my GP that I wished to be referred to London for the expertise - in my case Prof Richard Schilling - this was accepted, and was the best thing I've ever done. As far as I am aware there has not been any change in the NHS referral sysby Kaytee - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you so much Jackie. Good luck with your situation Liz, I hope someone responds. This Parliamentary statement about UK smart meter roll out gives me some hope and I have told my supplier I do not want this technology. “We believe that people will benefit from having smart meters, but we will not make them obligatory. Liz Sorry this is of no help to you but I sympathise because I have similar concerns and hope there might be some advice offered. Being in UK not so many protective products, have not seen any meter guards. Still awaiting smart meters (but imminent). I have many issues with EMF, and fear my ablation might be compromised. Thank you very much Jackie, much for me to consider (no support from my UK General Practitioners for supplements). Kayteeby Kaytee - AFIBBERS FORUM
"There is a warning, though, that people with hyperparathyroidism, sarcoidosis or using Coumadin/warfarin should not supplement with vitamin D. " Jackie : maybe I have missed this point but it is the first time I have read that as a warfarin user I should not take Vit D supplements which I have been doing thinking it was helpful! My personal aversion to microwaves was precipitated by this and ever since I have nearly completely avoided using mine, unfortunately when eating out you can never be sure... I therefore commend any other form of cooking/heating. Kayteeby Kaytee - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

As a long term (UK) user of IHerb Life Extension K2 low dose MK7, I am dismayed to find product discontinued. As a warfarin user is there an alternative? Price is an issue for me due to import duties.by Kaytee - AFIBBERS FORUM
Happy to read news of your ablation with Prof Schilling; your experiences sound very similar to mine except I cannot remember much of the procedure (RF + cryo) - the sedation must have worked for me! Take it easy for a few weeks and I hope that all settles down for you, as it continues for me, now over 3 years on.... :-) Kayteeby Kaytee - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello Sally I have been a UK lurker on this board for many years and indeed it was through advice I read here that I opted for an NHS ablation with Prof Schilling 3 1/2 yrs ago. I have not regretted my decision and if you would like to hear my experiences perhaps you could PM me and I am happy to share them. Kayteeby Kaytee - AFIBBERS FORUM
