Meditating can't hurt.by DavidK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey Rattana...its David!!! So glad you're on the forum! I asked my provider Nurse Practitioner Kristi Pangborn at Scripps La Jolla Electrophysiology/Cardiology if, as a patient of Scripps Hillcrest you could be referred to Dr. Andrea Natale who operates at Scripps La Jolla for an ablation. She thought it would not be a problem. You can call their scheduler Dori Aguilar to talk abby DavidK - AFIBBERS FORUM

You seem to be right on schedule, Natale wants his patients to stay on meds 6 months after ablation (if no issues), then wean off, and if no problems, stay off. If you have no issues, they will take you off the Eliquis too I bet. Does your history above reflect that you had some afib in the blanking period (Aug-Oct)?by DavidK - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi Joy, Wishing you the best on your recovery. Can you share who your surgeon was? Also if you don't have the Kardia Mobile device I really recommend it: Now only $89. It is FDA approved to take clinical EKG readings and indicate afib. Its HR will also be more accurate than the reading your fitness band gives. The Kardia helps me a lot. Readings take just 30 seconds. You canby DavidK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Two years on from my March, 2019 Natale ablation, and no afib! Yahoo! The benefit is outstanding. Thank you Shannon, Carey, all forum members, Jackie B, Hans Larsen, cardiologist Dr. Gary Marcus, Nurse Practitioner Kristi Pangborn of Scripps La Jolla who works with Dr. Natale and seems to know more about EKG than many EPs, and the MAN himself, Dr. Andrea Natale. This type of article just pisses me off. It is 100% manipulative clickbait, completely absurd and designed solely to produce advertising impressions through impulse clicks. As George said, too much or too little of oxygen, water, CO2, or anything else in the universe will kill you. I had to do an echo before my Natale ablation but no TEE (thank god.) I think Natale does TEE or something similar *during* his ablations though.by DavidK - AFIBBERS FORUM
I don't have your symptoms, but my pulse rate was higher after my ablation. My ablation NP was unconcerned but recommneded cardio exercise. I procrastinated more than a year before starting cardio, but now that I'm doing it, my pulse rate is often about 10 bpm lower than before I started cardio.by DavidK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Success rate is a completely valid question. The place that did your ablation should keep in touch with you for 6-12 months at least, if this isn't standard, I would go elsewhere. You can also ask what type of ablation the EP does, see more here: Also: "what percentage of your ablations have complications?" One of the most important questions is how many ablations do youby DavidK - AFIBBERS FORUM
This idea is elaborated on in the book: Human Heart, Cosmic Heart: A Doctor’s Quest to Understand, Treat, and Prevent Cardiovascular Disease by Thomas Cowan, MD, a practitioner of anthroposophical medicine, Steiner advocate (obviously, since Steiner started anthroposophy) and big on the Nourishing Traditions approach to diet. You can make your own magnesium chloride "oil" inexpensively for use in a bath or rubbing on the skin. This company: sells 55 lbs. of magnesium chloride crystals for 62.50. You just mix 50% of the crystals with 50% water and stir it up, then you have your own magnesium "oil."by DavidK - AFIBBERS FORUM
Wow George thanks for the equine link. Kind of hard to believe any magnesium product is 20% elemental magnesium as virtually all the others are 9-11% elemental magnesium. Wonder what their secret is...? Anyhoo, there is no one best magnesium really. The issue is finding the right delivery vehicle to get the elemental magnesium into your system without disturbing the intestines. The key issue iby DavidK - AFIBBERS FORUM
In the last few days, I converted from atrial flutter to NSR on flecainide 150 mg 2x/day and metropolol 50 mg 2x/day. (Note that this is post-ablation...) FYIby DavidK - AFIBBERS FORUM
While I always respect the information George shares, I will also mention the following... I just finished some inperson meetings with Dr. Natale and Kristi Pangborn, NP at Scripps in La Jolla, and they are both really against the keto diet. Just FYI... Kristi Pangborn said she and her group advocate eating a mainly plant-based diet (some meat is ok, I didn't get any specifics) Daby DavidK - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have an ablation with Dr. Natale scheduled for April 30 at Scripps La Jolla and plan to be sharing some of the process on the forum. I'm looking forward to being done with afib as much as possible and being hopefully free of the medication. Because of the forum I realize that (even though Natale is "the best") there's a decent chance I'll need a touch-up ablationby DavidK - AFIBBERS FORUM
I use the Kardia, but another good solution is a pulse oximeter. For example: Zacurate 500BL Fingertip Pulse Oximeter Blood Oxygen Saturation Monitor Note: this is a separate gadget, not a phone app.by DavidK - AFIBBERS FORUM

I've had afib since March, 2013 but wasn't diagnosed and made certain of it until my first cardiologist visit in 2018. I took no pharmaceutical medications in the intervening 5 years. On that first visit, the cardio did not prescribe any meds nor did I ask for any. As my episode frequency was increasing despite using a host of alternative solutions, I asked my cardio for something phby DavidK - AFIBBERS FORUM

"A T-shirt that constantly monitors the heart’s activity and detects abnormalities could help protect people against stroke — and may even help diagnose the cause of fainting. The high-tech shirt, called Cardioskin, has electrodes stitched into the cotton fabric which carry out round-the-clock checks on the heart’s electrical activity. bolimasa, if you really want to know when you are in Afib, I recommend getting a Kardia device: Amazon.com Kardia. Just $99 and in 30 seconds it shows you if you're in Afib or not. (They push a monthly subscription, but its not required.) Very helpful device!
