Carey- I'm not concerned that afib will lead to vfib. I'm concerned that the drug given to speed up your heart rate could produce vfib. After looking at several respectable websites on chemical stress testing, I find that vib, while rare, can occur as a result of the stress drug.by LarryZ - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm scheduled for a nuclear chemical stress test as opposed to a treadmill type of stress test. My heart rate will be elevated by drugs rather than exercise. I'm thinking the drug induced high heart rate is more dangerous for me in afib than an exercise induced high heart rate. I routinely engage in fast walking punctuated with several 1/4 mile jogs that elevate my heart rate. I nevby LarryZ - AFIBBERS FORUM
Many question the lack of a large double blind study on the effectiveness of nattokinase.Since I stopped Eliquis several months ago due to an allergic reaction, I have been using nattokinase faithfully and have wondered if is really doing anything since I have no negative side effects from it at all. Well last week I needed an emergency tooth extraction and did not stop taking nattokinase beforeby LarryZ - AFIBBERS FORUM
Due to the lack of pre-loading of the ventricles, a reduction in ejection fraction when in AF, seems inevitable. I just had my first echo done while I was in AF and I had about a 9% drop in EF. I found a older research paper where 30 subjects in AF were echoed both in AF and then in sinus rhythm. The increase in stroke volume ranged between 30-50% when in SR. I have been in constant AF sby LarryZ - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie- When they first started to appear, I thought it was some form of poison ivy/oak, etc. At that time there was more itching with little red bumps and less swelling. Your description of the progression of the problem is very close to how I would describe it. Now I get the edema welts ranging in size from a nickel to a silver dollar.by LarryZ - AFIBBERS FORUM
After 12 years of random bouts of AF, two months ago I woke up in permanent AF. So I started Eliquis and for the first 4 weeks, it seemed to cause no side effects except some fatigue. Then I started getting patches of edema on the back of my hands, head, forearm and thigh. I did not get these all at once, these are just the various locations where the edema has occurred. The patches would allby LarryZ - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie - You've got a great memory!! I take 600 - 800mg / day of magnesium glycinate/lysinate chelate. If I drop below 400 mg / day, in a couple of days, I'm gambling with adrenergic afib.by LarryZ - AFIBBERS FORUM
After 10 years of paroxsmal afib and faithfully reading this forum and trying various experiments on myself, I have found the following to be true. I hasten to add this may not be applicable to others. 1. Potassium supplementation helps prevent vagal mediated afib but does not totally eliminate it. 2. Magnesium supplementation absolutely prevents adrenergic mediated afib. If I fail to supplby LarryZ - AFIBBERS FORUM
