QuoteYuxi Hi this is my 2nd ablation. 1srt one was a cryo in sept 2021 The ep on my 2nd said he found gaps in my LU PV Just got to hope this was a little blip ?? So your 1st ablation lasted 2 years. Is your 2nd EP saying some of the PV lesions created by the Cryo are re-connected? Yes The left upper pv had reconnected So he did 36 rf burns according to my notes No my 1st cryo ablaby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
No my 1st ablation lasted 4 months then was getting af once or twice a month So the ep put me on the uk wait list for my 2nd. The new ep who did the 2nd said one of the pv left upper had reconnected so he did 36 burns and said All went well 2nd was 4th sept 2023by Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thanks. Just worried now that af has broken through the ablation hasn’t worked ?by Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
I’m on 60mg diltiazem and apixaban Twice a day. The ep did say I could take 50mg flecanide twice a dayby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
Had my 2nd ablation rf type 5 weeks ago All was fine until yesterday suddenly felt af come on Did ecg 130bpm and af on my Apple Watch Then back to normal nsr then back to af Seemed I was going in and out of af Is this normal? Took 200mg and back to normal nowby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuotePoppino Len many here fear they “undid” their ablation! I honesty think that’s impossible. You are simply in a still vulnerable position. 3 months is nothing. Like i someone here told me in 2012. Youre playing golf with a stroke handicapp now. The ablation gives u an advantage not a locked up tight forever afib free (i doubt) but with proper nutrition and trigger avoidance yes u should do weby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuotePoppino Len. You sound like me only worse! Your ablation has not failed. Two errors - drinking 3-4 beers while on eliquis!!! No. Drinking 3-4 beers 3 months after an ablation period is high risk trigger imo. 3 months or 3 years. After my 2012 ablation i went to one beer or one drink only as alcohol was always an obvious trigger for me and many! Its gas poured on fire Way too soon to test ouby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
Cheers Carey. Does one Af attack mean the rogue signals have now permanently found A pathways even after just 3 months ?by Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
Cheers. Only the 2 x 5mg apixaban Got flecanide as pill in pocket I’ve took 2 x 100mgby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi all had what I thought was a successful cryo ablation 3 months ago Went into af yesterday after a few 3 or 4 beers. Really disappointed tbh Is the ablation a failure. Maybe seek a 2nd procedure.by Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
Cheers much appreciated. Fingers crossedby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Carey. Much appreciated. I’ve been a little nervous about reading the letter tbh Just in case I read something I didn’t like the sound of. My worry was - why and how can the pv go into Af AFTER he’s ablated it ? In my head I’m thinking Well it’s been ablated so shouldn’t therefore be in Af ? And it hasn’t worked Thanksby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi all. Had my ablation 2 weeks ago. It went well the ep said all done and no issues. Reading the doctors notes today it said my llpv went into af post ablation then normal rhythm when he froze the next pv. Is this normal. ? It’s got me a little worried Cheersby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteBrian_og Lenlec, in your first post post ablation you said “it bloody hurt tbh”. Could you elaborate on that? Thanks.i It felt like a crushing throbbing pain upper chest and neck hard to explain. It kept stopping and starting. Bearable though. Just about Don’t let it put you off if your thinking of ablation. Now I’m feeling good and resting up a few weeks.by Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi all. Been 3 days since my ablation. Woke up this morning feeling great. No soreness and groin area is hardly noticeable now Feel like going for a nice stroll in the sun later. My heart rate is 55 bpm. About 8 more than normal. I know it’s early days and I need to rest up for a week or 2. But so pleased. Anyone 50 50 on whether to have the procedure? From my own personal experienceby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi. Not sure. I rested for about 5 hours they kept checking my blood pressure and the ep came round for a chat and said I’m good to go home after checking my groinby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks. I’m home and resting now. Chest feels funny when I Bend down to do things like tying shoe lacesby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi all. Decided to go ahead with the cryo ablation in the end. Against some sound and good advice in Afibbers. I appreciate the advice you gave Carey and others. But I went for it It bloody hurt tbh. Went down at 9.20 back in my room about 11 ish The ep said it was a text book procedure so fingers crossed. I was given fentanyl and it still hurt. Didn’t feel antthinf from the groin areby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thankyou all I’m worries if I ring the hospital and talk to the Af nurse to cancel the ablation I will be put on the bottom or taken off the list for ablation? But my ep did say it’s my choice at the end of the day Carry on with the pip flecanide and wait to see if it gets worseby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey Because my ep said he thinks it’s the right thing for me I apologize if you've provided this elsewhere, but can you give us a summary of yourself? How old are you? Any other medical conditions? What drugs do you take for the afib? How often and for how long are you in afib? All the time or only some of the time? Do you experience symptoms when you're in afib?no wby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey My resting heart rate is 42 to 45 beats per minute at the mo. Run most days gym at night Just don’t want it going to 60 or. 70 Feel great Do I have the ablation? That's not what you should be basing your decision on. A temporary increase in resting heart rate does you no harm so who cares? If you feel great, why are you having an ablation? Because my ep said he thinksby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi all. Due to have an ablation 14rh sept. I know post ablation resting heart rate is usually higher. But does it eventually return to Normal pre ablation rate ? Cheersby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey Okay, then he's mainly just looking to see if anything has changed, like left atrium enlargement, for example. Thanks again Why would the left atrium enlarge ? Is This a bad problem ?by Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey The ep has also booked mr to go back for an ultrasound scan Is this to check suitability for the ablation? Yes, to an extent, but it's probably mostly just a general fact finding mission. Do you have normal heart anatomy? Any clots lurking in your atria? Is your left atrium enlarged? Any valve issues? Is your ejection fraction normal? I had an ultrasound done a few years agby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey I agree with Pompon. If 50 mg of flecainide ended my afib episodes quickly and those episodes weren't too frequent, I would not undergo an ablation. I'm sure your doctor is confident and all, but ablations remain an invasive procedure with risks, and sometimes ablations require repeat procedures. I would stick with the flecainide for now. However, be aware that the ablation iby Lenlec - AFIBBERS FORUM
