They are shipping it - I meant to get an EKG - I am hoping I don't have to go into the city at all even to see him: Sinai is reportedly a hotbed of infection at the momentby Callydex - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi all: It has been 8 weeks since my ablation for atypical flutter at Sinai with Vivek Reddy: I am feeling fine and am quite sure I've had no recurrence, but I do notice that my pulse will, over several seconds, go up gradually, like a car engine revving a bit, and then drop down abruptly. I am due to get my Zio patch in a week, and have no wish to go to my doctor's office (we are in aby Callydex - AFIBBERS FORUM

Just found a BMJ study - 2012 - concluding that there was a significant risk of rebound effect strokes, especially in people going off because of bleeds, and especially during the first thirty days after abrupt discontinuation. . Will post the citation in a bit.by Callydex - AFIBBERS FORUM
Just curious - I am looking forward to getting off Pradaxa, as it makes me quite sick. How exactly is one taken off? I have read in some places that abrupt discontinuation results in a state of hypercoagulation, which in itself can precipitate a strokeby Callydex - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had allergic reactions to both Eliquis and Xarelto - now on Pradaxa. It causes me major GI discomfort: I must take it standing up, with a great deal of liquid and then some food. Still get stomach pains, including in the middle of the night. I also just found out it will no longer be covered by my insurance, and runs about $550/month. Was actually about to post something here about that: has anby Callydex - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi all- Have been taking Eli quo’s for a couple of days now, in preparation for an ablation at Sinai in January. Each time I take it I feel some tingling on my mouth and around my eyes, and tonight I think my lips are a bit puffier than usual. Should I stop? Will definitely call my doctor in the morning.by Callydex - AFIBBERS FORUM
Not sure if this is a stupid question: does the PFA ablation address sources of afib outside the pulmonary veins or just the PVs?by Callydex - AFIBBERS FORUM
Good to hear - I should be so lucky. PACs quiet today, in spite of horrendous heat, sweating, and (I am sure) loss of electrolytes/minerals in spite of best effortsby Callydex - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes Goerge thanks - I do remember that now. It is all coming back to me, unfortunately. My PACs have totally disappeared for now: maybe I'll luck out like Ken and this really will have been a one-off....by Callydex - AFIBBERS FORUM
I started at 65 and went to about 89 for a year. Bummer It's great now. When and with whom was your ablation? All still good?by Callydex - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the response. For the last two days the PACs have calmed down significantly, and I saw from looking at my posts that I was here a year ago, with the same issue, and they calmed down then...fingers crossed. It is amazing how much ablations have evolved in the past decade: I have not yet wrapped my mind around the different catheters, imaging and cooling techniques that have been introduby Callydex - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yup that was actually my plan....I'm downing taurine and magnesium like there's no tomorrow. Thanks so much for your feedback. I was on this site a great deal over ten years ago when my afib started: an episode a year for three years, then once every six months, then once a month - which was when I did a bunch of research and decided to go to Penn and Callans. So it looks as if the consensus is that the next ablation is inevitable: would it make sense just to schedule it and get it done? Or wait to see what happens with the ectopics?by Callydex - AFIBBERS FORUM
Greetings all: I had an ablation with David Callans at Penn almost 10 years ago, with no afib since, until four months ago. I had been having high-stress related BP and other anxiety issues related to changing jobs and ultimately retiring, and had one episode that was ended with Corvert. Have been in contact with Vivek Reddy in NYC, and he is willing to perform an additional ablation when I am rby Callydex - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am confused - I am 67 but not on Medicare yet - my health plan is Empire Plan (NY State teachers) through United Health Care. Should I call the Montefiore business office to sort this out? Pamby Callydex - AFIBBERS FORUM
As of January 1, Dr Di Biase is no longer accepting United Health Care insurance. Is this going to impact anybody else? Any recommendations for EPs in the NY area who still do?by Callydex - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi all: I was active here 10-8 years ago, when my paroxysmal AFib started, developed, and then was ablated by Dr Callans at Penn. I have been very healthy since - no sign of afib. Recently however I have developed PACs and runs of tachycardia that I am thinking may be flutter: fast, almost-regular, and always in conjunction with intestinal activity. Is this something others have experienced? I aby Callydex - AFIBBERS FORUM
